Hello,
I'm new to the site and I saw the thread for last years appilcants to UBC nursing so I thought I would start one for this year.
How is the application going for everyone, any tips from 2010 intake?
Hi everyone,
I am a third year student from SFU and I got my invitation for the interview as well. From what I heard from my advisor, the bulk of the weight for your application comes from the interview and the supplemental (she said gpa is important but the others aspects of the application process with make you "stand out") . Does anyone know how many applicants they interview??? Good luck to everyone:)
When I called UBC admissions I didn't talk to the woman that was sending out invitations I talked to the admissions advisor. She said that she was told by the woman sending out the invitations that everyone would be notified by today but take this with a grain of salt as it is not direct information from the woman in sending the invitations. She said that if we did not hear any news today that we should contact admissions at the email address that I posted earlier. Hope this helps.
imsecretlyonyourside, it must be very difficult for you to wait knowing that some people already received their invitations, but do not just dive up! In fact, never give up! It is not over yet, and you will get your reply by e-mail (hopefully positive one!) in any case!
*Crossing fingers*
imsecretlyonyourside, I checked in with the lady who is sending the invitations out and she said "today is not the last day for sending the invitation emails". She said its an on going process and you can even get an email on April 14th which is one day before the last interview date. I feel like I cant breath till april 15th because this is so stupid for making the rest of us wait like this. :/ Anyway that being said I hope this is a beam of light of the ones who got disappointed by not getting the email today. ITS NOT OVER YET lol
Just checking in to say that I'm still waiting to hear as well.
And, not that it seems to make a difference, but I'm a UBC Alumni (BA) and my last name starts with S :)
I'm starting to get a little nervous at the idea of having so little time to prepare for an interview, if I'm offered one. I suppose at this point it would be best to simply assume I do and start preparing anyway.

I am NOT a UBC student, in fact, although I am a born-and-raised Vancouverite, I did my schooling, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in the USA. I was pretty worried about how much weight my degrees would hold, as I have learned that Canadian- and B.C.-educated students are highly favored.
