UBC BSN September 2017

Published

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

:)

I got my rejection email last year on may 5th at like 3pm. They send out all the acceptance letters first then they send out the rejections last.

Then I'm wrong. Sorry for any confusion. I wonder why they send it later. I mean if they've decided who got in, who gets waitlisted and who gets rejected, wouldn't it simpler just to send emails to those who got in or rejected at the same time?

Yarg... I'm no administrative expert so just ignore my blabbing LOL.

This is gonna be a loooong week

Do you remember if they updated the blog last year before sending out acceptance/waitlist/rejection emails?

It sure is!! Ahhh! I;ve been reading through this blog starting a couple of weeks ago and glad I found it. It's super nice to have all these people in the same boat! I hope it comes before Friday! In February I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour - I put off surgery until I finished Bio 235 which I finished up on April 3rd and was not to bad on waiting for our news until pretty much last week. I hope I get to go into brain surgery with good news but if not then I'll just have to pick myself up, focus on my recovery, go back to work and start working on my BCIT application for January. What will be will be! One thing this brain tumor has taught me is at least we all have the hope and the chance to even apply and dream because in a second life can pull that away from you and give you a terminal illness and there no more hoping or dreaming for the distant future! Stay positive everyone!

@lindsayn I wish you the best of luck with your brain surgery and a speedy recovery to you as well! thank you for the reminder that life, dreams and hopes can be taken from us in a moment. I needed to be reminded of that. so thank you. Also welcome to the forum we are glad to have you here :)

I keep getting massive adrenaline surges every time my phone buzzes, thinking it is an email from UBC. It doesnt help that updates from this thred show up in my email as "UBC BSN 2017 admissions" ...so I have a mini heart attack every time hahaha! stay positive everyone, what will be will be at this point :) I think everyone in here is an amazing, kind and supportive person and I wish everyone nothing but the best. I cant wait to start seeing posts once people get their acceptance letters! :)

@mandi_jacqeline I hear you! I also have the email notifications set for this forum! hang in there we are all super anxious with YOU! :)

I'm sure lots of you are in the same boat, but I just want to know already so I can start planning my life( where I will live, roommates, finances etc.) in the fall! I hate not knowing what I'm doing but knowing that we will know this week definitely makes me feel more at peace :)

@ Daisy2016 Thank you very much :)

I wonder what the admissions average was this year...seems like it's been going up every year! A fellow nursing student at UBC told me a prof said this year had the highest incoming averages from applicants...

I also was re-reading through my application and realized I wrote the wrong job title (I said I was a care aide instead of an assistant home support worker...), even though I correctly wrote it on all other parts of my application. I hope this doesn't screw me over. I'm scared ah!
