UBC BSN September 2017

Published

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

:)

I'm working and finishing BIO235 from Athabasca University. But I still have trouble keeping my mind off of it. Especially now that it seems like the e-mail could come any minute.

Hi @ceg7245! Where are you in the course? I'm studying Chapter 24 right now, and scheduled to write the final on May 8th. I'm struggling to keep on top of the material for the last part of the course, but at least I have the finish line in sight!

@Daisy2016 I'm trying to keep busy with my course, but I'm still obsessively checking my phone for emails. :( I wish they would tell us when they were sending out letters. If they said "Last day of April", we'd be disappointed about the long wait, but at least we wouldn't be jumping every time we get an email notification on our phones!

@Daisy2016 and @tdmah, I hear you! I jump from notifications in my inbox and see its the forum, school, or worse, advertisements. Mini heart attacks left and right!

I was in Indonesia for 18 days at the end of March, so I'm a bit behind, about to finish Ch 21. I had trouble with the 2nd part of the course, just felt like it was a lot of material, this section I feel is a bit repetitive so far. I haven't scheduled the exam yet. But hoping to write by the end of May

Oh nice! Yeah I agree - the second part was a lot more intense than I expected. Hopefully the final isn't too difficult. Keep in mind when scheduling your final that Athabasca takes a little while to process your final grade and UBC requires your transcript by June 15th. When I spoke to the tutor, he advised that I take the final no later than May 11th to guarantee my transcript will be sent on time...

Just out of curiosity, how does Athabasca online course fulfill the lab portion of the A&P? Is it mostly filling out for the lab portion or is it separate from the online course? I just had my final with my second A&P course today. So I am very anxious to hear the news from the admission this and next week as well!

There is no lab portion for the course. They have online resources that can be used to mimic a lab, but they're not required to pass the course. :)

Ohh that sucks you didn't have a lab portion! My favourite part of the week was working with cadavers ahah

University of Calgary!

Glad to hear we are all in the same anxious boat!:nailbiting: love how supportive this forum is!

I wish they could give us a "you wont hear before this date" date. It would help so much with the anxiety.
