UBC BSN September 2017

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

I heard that this year they actually got nearly 900 applications, way more than normal years. I dont know if it is true or not, just what a student there told me she heard. I guess this can comfort us if we get bad news. and explains why it might take some time for them to tally scores and send out notifications

@mandi_jacqeline HOLY SMOKES! that is a lot of applications! we may not hear till the end of April if that is the case

holy smokes @ mandi_jacqeline!!! Where did you hear this? I'm curious!!!

Maybe most of those applicants have applied at other schools too and just threw darts at the board for this one!?

@mandi_jacqueline yeah I'd be super interested to hear where you got that number from too. On their website, it says that they get approximately 500 applications per year. The FAQ has been updated recently (with the new CASPer info) so I feel like they would have updated that number if it had indeed almost doubled...

***UPDATE: I just called UBC and they received about 550 applications. Letters still going out by the end of April. ***

Looking over the FAQ it seems to be the same, no additional info. I personally (and wishfully) am doubting its that many people but who knows!! I guess they do use that number as an average, but 900 would be well out of the standard deviation curve (school talk still in me). Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Phew - it's definitely 550. I talked to admissions at UBC.

Thank you for actually calling :) ...did they give you any idea on what "end of April" means? like very last day.. or could be sooner?
