UBC BSN September 2017

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

HOW IS EVERYONE DOING TODAY? we officially made through the first week of April! only 3 more to go!

Does anyone know if they update the blog before sending out their acceptances/rejections?

I've been keeping VERY busy with my charity organization. Been volunteering for 9+ hours every day for the past week, so it hasn't allowed me to really sit and worry about it! :)

I keep hoping that we hear before the end of April. Like next week... it would be great to hear before Easter so we can share the news with our families over the holidays. even though I know they send admission offers out via email first... I still check my UBC status multiple times a day. It's close to impossible to put it out of my head. Im keeping my fingers crossed for next week... even if that is only false hope. I just want to know either way. Im hoping for good news for everyone! Please post here the second anyone hears anything! :) ...then we will have to start a facebook group

Hey! I got an email saying I was accepted to my second choice (unclassified studies) did anyone else receive an email? When I look at the admission offers online it still says they are evaluating me for my first choice (nursing). I know that they only look at your second choice if you didn't get in to your first choice. Just wondering if anyone else heard anything. Im slightly confused. Thanks

nothing from nursing yet... but congrats on getting accepted to your second choice. what is it?

I wouldnt worry about nursing yet. they probably make an exception and evaluate your second choice when the faculty is taking so long to release offers. what time of day did you get your admission offer for your second choice?

my second choice is unclassified studies... so i would have thought that would be the last one to have to give an offer. Did anyone else list a second choice and hear from their second choice?

I don't think they received the results as late as they say they did. They probably received them mid March seeing as the last batch of Casper takers was late Feb. So I'm guessing mid April is when we'll know for sure. Cuz let's be real they'll do the first wean by total score + grades. So it shouldn't take too too long. But I dunno could be completely wrong.

Hey i don't think you only get considered for your second choice if you don't get into your first! My friend got accepted into a Bachelors of Science while waiting to hear back from pharmacy a few weeks back. He just last week found out he got an interview for pharmacy! I think they are evaluated independently. :) Congrats tho!

When I asked the people at CASPer how long it takes to send the results to the school, they told me about 4 weeks... so I think they probably did receive the last batch of results at the end of March. :(

Oh that sucks! On their website they say 2 weeks... Ohhh man :(

@tdmah and @mdana93, the admission blog said (in mid march) that they would receive CASPer results at the end of March. So hopefully they are tallying everything up right now!!! Then maybe as mentioned above, we get some responses before Easter! Otherwise it'll feel like a long, dreadful, and anxious weekend.

Hey, everyone! hang in there, hopefully, we hear this week but my guess is not as it is a short week with the easter holiday. Admissions said they would not receive Casper results until the end of March. So I am pretty sure that is when they got them and if that's true they have not had much time to tally up 500 scores and match to our profiles. My hope for all of us is that we get positive news very soon. it would be nice to share some positive news on easter with the fam but I am not getting my hopes up for that deadline.
