Hi everybody! I haven't found an active discussion thread for September 2019 applicants to UBC's BSN program yet, so here is one!

I'm assuming I won't hear back until after June 15 (when people don't accept their offers) so they should give an extension. But I'll be prepared! So far, I'll I've done is submitted my final transcript. I'm just waiting to quit my job and want to know when I can leave (can't wait!).

Hi all, i’ve been accepted to both ubc and uoft, both very comparable schools in terms of academic standing in canada, research opportunities etc. I’ve been living in vancouver since september and off/on for the past few years but originally raised in toronto. I’m wondering if anyone else is in a similar predicament and would like to discuss ? I have a list of pros/cons but would like to go over with as many people as possible to make an extremely informative decision lol. I thought i was 70/30 toronto but now i’m back to 50/50 after thinking about how my cons for ubc shouldn’t be make it or break it issues (clinicals might be placed super far, variety of food is not the same as toronto lmao etc). Hope someone has more insights!
Congrats to everyone who got in!! I just wanted to share my own experience as someone who was not accepted. Earlier this year I did my UBC med interview. In order to get an interview, UBC scores you out of 100, 50 for your gpa and 50 for "non-academics." Similar to nursing, when you get an interview, you are not told your score but it's easy enough to calculate your academic score. Judging by my gpa, it's safe to say that I was in the top 40% for non-academics. My supplemental score for nursing was a 4 (bottom 25%!!) I was truly shocked by my low score especially since I was ranked so highly for medicine. Just goes to show how different programs value different experiences!!
