Hello fellow applicants!
I was browsing and did not see a thread for the 2018 UBC BSN applicants so thought I'd start one.
I am just finishing up my supplemental nursing application and hope to finish my application by the end of today and have already submitted my transcript. Just wanted to know who else is applying/GPA/past experiences with UBC/any tips or information for the application anyone wishes to share.
A bit about myself.. I am currently an LPN working at a hospital and also work part-time in retail in a leadership role, I do not have a Bachelor's degree but am applying anyways (hoping my supplemental weighs heavy in my favour). I have a GPA of 3.55 and will have ~30 credits at the end of this Fall term. I have some volunteer experience working with companies during their charity campaigns and am hoping to do more volunteer work this year. I will also be applying to BCIT, Langara and Queen's University once their applications open up.
Good luck to everyone and please share any information you're able too!
I am so anxious! I'm thinking we will hear by the end of the week.
Reading through the posts it seems like everyone is very qualified! I really have no idea what to expect.
Myself, I have a BSc in Nutrition and Food Science; I have research experience in food microbiology in Alberta and in Prague. I have worked in the corporate world doing QA and regulatory for a multinational company and also have 8 years in hospitality service. Recently, I've been working in a private home as a caregiver for the past year. I have volunteered in a long term care facility for over a year and with a pet rescue. My Average is between a B+ and an A-. I really have no idea what to think of the Casper exam - a few of my questions changed over on me mid-sentence and it is so hard to gauge!
Hi, Everyone!
I have been anxious and curious this week, and found this forum today.
I have been working as a LPN at hospital for 5 years, have a degree of business admin. I ran into UBC nursing clinical students in hospital where I work, some heard their admission at the end of April, and two got accepted in June. But hopefully, we all can hear the good news this week!!
Can anyone confirm that tomorrow is the day? Has anyone spoken to admissions for the exact date?
I am on vacation right now and afraid to check my email tomorrow - I'm so afraid of bad news!
I was feeling ok about my application but my experiences work-wise have nothing to do with health and my volunteering the past 5 years has been limited to my children's school etc. as I haven't had time to volunteer elsewhere with kids and my business. Before kids I had interesting stuff, but it was more than 5 years ago.
I'll be biting my nails and sending everyone good vibes for tmrw...
