Alright who's applying to the UBC Vancouver BSN September 2015 intake? I'm a second year UBC science student who's applying :) Let's all support and communicate with each other for registration help and processing !
Hey,
the initial interviews have been sent out!!!
Who here would be interested in doing some interview practice together? I think getting cryptically feedback from each other would be the best way to prepare.
My email is [email protected]. If your interested post your email address or give me a shout
Uhm I volunteer in the hospital, have been for 6 years. I'm 20 right now. I'm a science student at UBC. I'm in the Canadian forces reserves as an officer candidate in training, I volunteer for some local clubs and at church. err I'm also an alumni for my high school incentive program. It's not much but I really want to be a nurse and I wrote it down on my supplemental as to why I want it so much. Yeah, good luck on yours and everyone else still waiting í ½í¸…
I just got my interview offer!!! I can't believe it, after scoring so low last year (in the last 25% of applicants).. All I can tell is...I haven't really changed at all... the only new things are that I have worked (since last year's application) with an autistic young girl, and founded a not-for-profit promoting outdoor lifestyle. Nothing super major in my opinion..nothing that I feel would make me a better nursing student/nurse than what I would have been last year. But I guess it's all about the way I wrote everything.
So excited for the interview!! :)
Good luck to everyone else who is waiting for an email!
Hi All,
So I've been lurking here since 2012. I first applied to UBC's School of Nursing in my second year at UBC (for the 2013 intake), and got an interview. My supplemental ranked as 1 (top 25%). However, my interview didn't go as well as I thought. I found that I didn't have as much life experience as my peers that were applying, because most of them were mature students. Last year, I applied again. To my surprise, I didn't even get an interview. I scored 3 this time around, and ranked as the top 75%. I was incredibly confused because I changed my supplemental application very little (since it did get a 1 the year before). My average was a lot higher than it was in second year. I went to UBC's Nursing admission advisor and she told me the application rank varies depending on my competition as well as who else applied. I wasn't completely sold on this explanation. This is my THIRD and FINAL time applying. I even wrote that in my supplemental application this year (you'd think persistence would be a good thing). I took into consideration what the admission advisor told me. I have plenty of experience in the healthcare field. I really don't know what else they are looking for. I still am hopeful to hear back, but checking my e-mail has never been more nerve-wracking. My sister is a UBC Nursing alumni, and even she does not understand how UBC ranks and gives out interviews. I have way more experience than she did, and my average is a lot higher than hers when she had applied (she graduated 2 years ago, which isn't too long ago). Anyhow, may the force be with us and congratulations to those who already got offered an interview!

I JUST got my interview offer Thursday april 16th. they have started ladies n gentlemen. I was pretty worried because my average isn't that high (75%) but I guess God was with me :)
I live in Vancouver so I guess location doesn't affect it too much. Anyway, good luck to everyone else.
