UALR Nursing Program Applicant 2014

U.S.A. Arkansas

I plan on applying for the ADN progam at UALR soon. I am a nervous reck. I know there are more people applying than spots available. I have about 96 quality points. I made an 84 on my evolve exam. I have a 3.5 gpa. I have taken most of my Support Courses except Chemistry and Microbiology. I am taking Micro in the spring and have to repeat chemistry b/c I made a D in it about 10 years ago. I'm scared that chemistry will ruin my chances. I have a prior bachelors degree. I was just wondering what shot do I have of getting in the program.

This Tuesday I just screamed and cried in the middle of my job on the register!! ‪#‎Jehovah‬ did it for me!!! ‪#‎NursingSchool‬ ‪#‎NewChapter‬ ‪#‎Accepted‬ ‪#‎UALR‬ ‪#‎UALRNURSING‬ ‪#‎FutureRN‬ ‪#‎FuturePublicHealthNurse‬ maybe ‪#‎TraumaNurse‬ Can't Nothing Break This High Doing This for my Aunt Diane!!! ‪#‎NappyNurse‬ ‪#‎NaturalNurse‬ ‪#‎SteppingStones‬

I also got an acceptance email for the accelerated option and accepted it! So exciting!

We should all exchange emails or #s soon. Would love to meet you guys at orientation !!

@cocoahunny, I was thinking the same thing about exchanging emails or something. After all assuming we all make it we will be seeing each other for the next 1.5 to 2 years depending on the track we chose.

Congrats cocoahunny and khix0127! Hopefully someone will be able to congratulate me before too long. Ha. But for RNtobe33, azminamerchant, and anyone else who submitted your app on time yet have not received an email, their fb says they are still in the process of sending them out. I, on the other hand, did not get mine in on time. I tried to find out, since it is first-come, first served, and there are supposedly a lot of candidates this year, if I should just start moving toward plan B, but haven't gotten a response. Meh.

hey just curious .. wts ur plsn B?

i dont know wt to do if I get rejected:(

I know some friends that didn't get accepted into the program either applied the following year or went to baptist. The first year I applied to UALR, I was on the waitlist. So I simply retook some classes and finished taking the prereqs and applied the following year. When I didn't hear anything by May of the second year, I figured I had been waitlisted again. I was in the process of applying to Baptist's program (applications are due by July 1 each year for the August class) when I got my acceptance in late June. Even if you don't hear anything for the May class, they will run another smaller class in July if they have enough demand.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted and *fingers crossed* for those of you waiting for emails. Hopefully now that the acceptance deadline for the first batch is up, you will all hear something in the coming week? I agree with cocoahunny and ladyvp, we should exchange emails-I would love to know at least a familiar name or face for orientation! mine is kristi.r.hicks(at)gmail(dot)com (:

@khix0127 I think I saw you on facebook. I stalk UALR nursing fB page like crazy and I saw you made a comment. I will inbox you.

Yep! That was me!

Yeah...I am moving towards plan B as well..(just in case) since I havent heard ANYTHING Applying to Baptist next week after I retake my ACT's. They require your ACT exams to be no more than 10 years old...Not what I wanted to do but I cant wait a whole year to try again...:)
