I plan on applying for the ADN progam at UALR soon. I am a nervous reck. I know there are more people applying than spots available. I have about 96 quality points. I made an 84 on my evolve exam. I have a 3.5 gpa. I have taken most of my Support Courses except Chemistry and Microbiology. I am taking Micro in the spring and have to repeat chemistry b/c I made a D in it about 10 years ago. I'm scared that chemistry will ruin my chances. I have a prior bachelors degree. I was just wondering what shot do I have of getting in the program.
hey everyone! Ive been visiting this site everyday although I just joined it today. Congrats to everyone that was accepted and Good luck to those waiting! I was accepted to the accelerated program, and have no idea what to expect. Hope to see some of you there
Hi abennett1291, congratulations! I found this forum last week and maybe it will help you with what to expect. It addresses the summer NURS 1300 portion in particular. Scroll down to the fourth post. https://allnurses.com/arkansas-nursing/ualr-quality-points-528291-page5.html Hope this helps.
Be careful about relying on older posts. Christyll's post about the checkoffs is still pretty valid. But the earlier post about not starting IVs and blood draws till OB has changed. My group was the first to start doing those things during adult 2. They are constantly tweaking things. My OB group last fall was also the guinea pig for a new style of paperwork. Loves the concept map approach.
Don't be nervous. I have not received an email, either. I like to think that if they didn't plan on admitting us we would have already received a rejection letter. You should call for all of us just to find out what order they are sending them in (alphabetical, accepted to wait-listed, according to order they were received, ect) But, they said they will be sending them out all week and the day is not over. Just breathe and distract yourself...with wine. :)
@RNtobe33 From what I heard the more Gen ed. you have the best chance you have of getting in. 1st time freshman get preference. I think they are starting out with sending the people that applied before deadline first. But this is what was on the website for how they picked.

If more than one applicant has the same number of total quality points and the same grade point average (GPA) in required general education courses, applicants will be randomly ranked.
ASN Program applicant quality points are deducted for:
