I plan on applying for the ADN progam at UALR soon. I am a nervous reck. I know there are more people applying than spots available. I have about 96 quality points. I made an 84 on my evolve exam. I have a 3.5 gpa. I have taken most of my Support Courses except Chemistry and Microbiology. I am taking Micro in the spring and have to repeat chemistry b/c I made a D in it about 10 years ago. I'm scared that chemistry will ruin my chances. I have a prior bachelors degree. I was just wondering what shot do I have of getting in the program.
Hey everybody, I got an email saying I could go ahead and register for Nurs 1300 summer class before orientation. I was able to get my registration hold lifted by calling the financial aid office. Remember priority financial aid application deadline is May 1st and final deadline is June 30th.
Dear New AAS Nursing Student,*
In your "acceptance email" you were asked to bring several items to the orientation that is being held on*May 3, 2014. *The only two items you will need to bring to the orientation are:
1) *Two Passport Photos - name and T# printed on the back of both photos
2) *Emergency Contact Information - name, phone number, address of a person who is located in the Little Rock area
You will still need to purchase the UALR Department of Nursing Student Policy and Procedure Manual*2014-2015*Edition. *This manual will be available for purchase onMonday, April 28, 2014*at the UALR bookstore. These manuals are copyrighted and may not be copied for distribution.
Please read the entire manual and be prepared to discuss and sign a statement that you have reviewed and understood the written policies. *You will be required to submit a signed copy of this statement when you attend your first day of class on*May 27, 2014*for NURS 1300 Essential Nursing Skills.*
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks and we look forward to meeting you on May 3rd!

Yeah I didn't use any of my financial aid this past year. Been paying out of pocket at pulaski tech. They are way cheaper. I picked an online summer course just to get the financial aid. I may drop it and just pay for the summer class I haven't decided yet. Not trying to put myself in a bind. Considering I have to quit my job. They also don't do payment plan in the summer.
Thanks for all of the info, arobinson48390. I won't be in AR until May 12th to do orientation, so hopefully that will be enough time to find out where to get this stuff. I can't find the information online. I have ordered Nursing Fundamentals, but that is it. Oh, and as for financial aid: my current college took all of that and then some. $28,000 for this year! Luckily I had a scholarship for some but I definitely don't have any aid left for summer. Oh well. It's all worth it in the end.

Summer classes at UALR count double for financial aid. I may be wrong about this program, but normally, since summer classes are so condensed, 3 hours = 6 regular semester hours, so 3 hours should be enough to get part time financial aid.
