UALR Nursing Program Applicant 2014

Published

I plan on applying for the ADN progam at UALR soon. I am a nervous reck. I know there are more people applying than spots available. I have about 96 quality points. I made an 84 on my evolve exam. I have a 3.5 gpa. I have taken most of my Support Courses except Chemistry and Microbiology. I am taking Micro in the spring and have to repeat chemistry b/c I made a D in it about 10 years ago. I'm scared that chemistry will ruin my chances. I have a prior bachelors degree. I was just wondering what shot do I have of getting in the program.

Summer classes at UALR count double for financial aid. I may be wrong about this program, but normally, since summer classes are so condensed, 3 hours = 6 regular semester hours, so 3 hours should be enough to get part time financial aid.

Hey everybody, I got an email saying I could go ahead and register for Nurs 1300 summer class before orientation. I was able to get my registration hold lifted by calling the financial aid office. Remember priority financial aid application deadline is May 1st and final deadline is June 30th.

I registered! now I just need to figure out how I'm going to pay for my class :/ financial aid didn't tell me that if you use all your fall and spring aid you don't have anything for summer, good luck ladies

oh and you have to have 6 hours for financial aid to be considered I clarified that with financial aid, our class is only a month long so you can do summer 2,3, or 4 and still be okay :)

Yep, arobinson48390, you are right. I just registered and it is $858. Does anyone know what, besides the books, we will need for the summer class?

books, kits, uniforms, & passports I think . anything else guys?

lab jacket stethoscope

books, passports, uniforms, kits anything else?

Yeah I didn't use any of my financial aid this past year. Been paying out of pocket at pulaski tech. They are way cheaper. I picked an online summer course just to get the financial aid. I may drop it and just pay for the summer class I haven't decided yet. Not trying to put myself in a bind. Considering I have to quit my job. They also don't do payment plan in the summer.

I noticed that when I called I think there are scholarships available maybe

Thanks for all of the info, arobinson48390. I won't be in AR until May 12th to do orientation, so hopefully that will be enough time to find out where to get this stuff. I can't find the information online. I have ordered Nursing Fundamentals, but that is it. Oh, and as for financial aid: my current college took all of that and then some. $28,000 for this year! Luckily I had a scholarship for some but I definitely don't have any aid left for summer. Oh well. It's all worth it in the end.
