UAB Summer 2014

I've been lurking here, looking to see if anyone would be starting a thread on the UAB MSN cohort for Summer 2014. Nobody has yet, so I'm doing it!

Application deadline is October 28th! Is anyone else applying to start next summer? I've applied to the WHNP program, and have gnawed my fingernails down to nubs over it.

I have been a lurker of this thread since the beginning. I have applied for summer 2014. FNP is my first choice and adult/WHNP is my second choice. I have went to the blazernet site, but it says "no blazernet id is associated with my name" yet. I don't feel very confident. Congrats to all who have had gotten access though :)

This is what gives me hope from the Blazer ID webpage. "how do I get a Blazer ID?" Quoting: " In order to get a BlazerID, you must be associated with UAB as a past, present, or incoming employee or student (students who last attended before 1982 may not be in the computer records). If you are not (or have not been) affiliated with UAB as an employee or student, then you cannot get a BlazerID; there are no exceptions to this rule."

So if we are able to register and it gives us or takes our ID, we should be in. Just not able to sign back in yet. Wadda ya all think?

I haven't tried to register for a blazernet id yet. Do you guys think that it would be a problem with creating one now? What if the school designates us a different blazernet id upon acceptance?

not sure about Yall's Program but i am currently finishing up my first semester in CRNA school at UAB and After being accepted they sent us an admission packet which gave us instructions for setting up a blazer id and stuff like that... i believe that i would wait till you get your packet to create a blazer id because they have to put you into a specific program.. mine accidentally got put in the np group even though i created it when i was supposed to and it was a Headache trying to get everything sorted out with drug screen's and immunization records because they go on your blazer id THAT ONCE CREATED CANNOT BE CHANGED! and took almost a month for them to get it all sorted out so i would be cautious on creating one now!! good luck with getting in!!

I was thinking along of the lines of UABsleeperSRNA, when I posted last. As much as I wanted to try to "create" my id and log in. I am just so hesitant, because I feel as though the school would have a specific id for all of us. plus the warning on the page that "once created it cannot be changed" made me rethink it as well.

Congrats! To those of you that have been able to access! :) I'm loosing hope lol. I applied to FNP only but when I try to log in to UAB Central Authentication System it tells me login failed. Idk how else to check. That's where you all are going right?

yes from the way i understood it they provide a specific classification to your blazer id that will allow you to sign up for certain classes that are not available to the general public.

Dreambig191 i'm not sure about the usb central authentication system.. and it's accuracy on knowing wether you got in or not.. i do know at this time the school is really busy with Finals.. and getting all that stuff in order.. b/c next week is finals.. so i don't know what they would have had time to do.. honestly i found out i was accepted through Email.. over christmas break last year.. So don't give up hope until you get the letter that says you didn't get in their is still a chance..!
