UAB MSN FALL 2018

Published

I've seen previous posts about the process of waiting for acceptance or denial letters for the UAB MSN nurse practitioner program! Figured I'd start one for the Fall 2018 semester. I believe we are supposed to find out 6 weeks from yesterday! Anybody know if this is true?

They are gonna be so aggravated with us! Lol! Calling and emailing all the time :roflmao:

I am also anxiously awaiting decisions. I agree it is somewhat frustrating, especially trying to plan work schedules. However, their website in the program information said that decisions would be within 60 days of the deadline. If we are not counting just calendar days and not busniess days that means that decisions should be made April 24th.

As for me, I'm going to sit back. Relax. And anxiously await the next 2 weeks! :whistling:

Applied for FNP without second choice, and I can't create student ID... hope they are still working on decisions on FNP.

I called today and was told those accepted into the pediatric programs will need to go to orientation on the 21st and 22nd. Also when a decision has been made the dashboard will show decision made instead of submitted on our applications.

@TJERRN0222 will the dashboard be updated as they decide per person or all together ?

will the dashboard be updated as they decide per person or all together?

@jason4 If thats the case and decisions have been made then I wonder why they would push it back to the first of may? I'm hopeful that being able to create a login and student number means good news but I doubt it since it seems they don't have decisions yet.

Does anyone know how many applicants they usually accept in each specialty?

You guys are making me even more nervous lol. Speaking from being rejected last semester Decisions have not been made because the dashboard still says 100% completed. When decisions are made there are two ways to find out if you were accepted before the letter is mailed. The dashboard will then show a yellow envelope stating your decision has been made. If you were accepted there will be a place for you to click to accept the offer. If you were rejected it says "your official decision has been mailed". The other way to know for sure is to click 'register blazer-id' if it lets you register then you've been accepted. I was able to create a blazerid and pin but was not able to register that blazer-id yet so I don't think creating it means anything.

Specializes in ED.

I applied for the FNP program. I was able to create a banner ID but that is it. I was feeling okay about it until I read the @Chris_CV, BSN comment. Now I am freaking out a little bit! I wish they would stop pushing the date back and just make a decision. I have to request off like NOW if I am expected to attend orientation in June. I check the Dashboard almost every day.

Today was such a happy day until I read this! Lol! So being able to create the ID means nothing?! Great! I wish the decision was already made...I'm about to start a new job and I probably will not get the days off off if they keep drawing this out. The reason that everyone wants to apply is that the program is wonderful, from what I hear, and the offering of specialties...but it seems that this whole teeter-totter waiting game has gone on every..single...application period. I guess waiting is not all bad, I am truly in need of a patience lesson.

I've been following this thread for a while. I able to create a student ID, as I did this yesterday, but I'm not able to register through Blazernet. Under the FAQ where you register to blazernet it states:

"How do I get a BlazerID?

In order to get a BlazerID, you must be associated with UAB as a past, present, or incoming employee or student (students who last attended before 1982 may not be in the computer records). If you are not (or have not been) affiliated with UAB as an employee or student, then you cannot get a BlazerID; there are no exceptions to this rule."

I'm not sure how you could have a student ID and not be accepted into the program as a student if you've never attended UAB in the past. In past forums that I've read through, I've never seen anyone post they were able to create a Student ID for the first time and be denied into their program. I've seen people post it takes an hour and other it has taken days to finally be able to register for Blazernet. Unless I am missing something, this has to be a sign of acceptance.

When I received my Student ID it said "Cannot use Blazernet at this time". As if insinuating you will be able to use later....Did anyone else have it say anything different.
