UAB MSN FALL 2018

Published

I've seen previous posts about the process of waiting for acceptance or denial letters for the UAB MSN nurse practitioner program! Figured I'd start one for the Fall 2018 semester. I believe we are supposed to find out 6 weeks from yesterday! Anybody know if this is true?

Hi! I applied back in the fall for summer admission, and I do believe we found out about 6 weeks after the deadline. Maybe even a little sooner. I wasn't accepted at that time, but I've reapplied for fall admission and rewritten my essay. Not getting my hopes up, but we'll see!

@CAllen44 Do you mind me asking you what your stats are? I was not nervous at all until I read some of the other strands and saw where people with similar stats as me didn't get in. So now I'm panicked!

I don't know my GPA exactly, just that it was high enough to not need the GRE. I've been a nurse for 6 years, 2 in endoscopy and 4 in ER/trauma.

Honestly I can't even remember what all else they look at, lol. I know my essay had some APA mistakes last time. I had a friend who is a current student there help me this time to make sure everything is perfect as far as that goes, as we do know that people have been rejected based only on that in the past.

I have been a nurse for almost 2 years MS/Tele. Travel nurse currently in float pool. I think my gpa is like 3.4. I went to UAB for undergrad which I hear helps a little? (Not sure about that bc I've seen people not get in that went to UAB for undergrad). That essay was hard to do so I don't feel too confident on mine lol

I have been waiting for this moment for years! I hope to get in!

Was just looking back, I believe the application deadline for Summer was Oct 15, and my decision letter is dated Dec 1. I applied SUPER early for summer, and the wait seemed forever! I waited until the absolute last minute this time, so maybe it won't seem so long lol.

@CAllen44 Hey!!! Glad you reapplied so did I. My rejection letter for summer had the APA requirements bolded so I'm thinking that was the only reason I didn't get in. What did your letter say?

@Chris_CV,BSN to tell you the truth, we moved and I lost my letter lol. I had the school send me a new form to request to change my application term and just submitted that with a new essay via fax. However, I do know a girl who was rejected only because her essay wasn't formatted correctly, so I am hoping that was my only error, as well!

I'm thinking that was me too because I had a 3.6 gpa and a girl got in for summer with a 3.4. I'm hoping this is our time

I am also anxiously awaiting decision time. What track did everyone apply to?

I applied to AGACNP with a second choice of FNP.
