Hey everyone! I'm currently a student at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. I graduate this December and I'll be applying to UAB's AMNP program this Fall for the Spring 2017 class! I hope this group/thread can be used to help each other out through the application process. Also, to anyone currently in the AMNP program, please don't hesitate to drop in and share your application experience! :)
I got an email about scholarships this morning. The deadline is extended until November 4th. Also they will use the same recommendations from your application for the scholarship application. She recommended completing it before the interview so I'm assuming they will collect them there or you could drop it off at the SON on the day of your interview.
Congrats everyone!! I have my interview October 24th and have started looking into paying for classes as well- specifically in phase 1. I'm also not sure if I'll be granted in state tuition- I came from Florida but I started working as a full time employee a month ago. I have to apply for in state tuition and I was told "I'll probably get it" but not sure because they vote as a committee. Is anyone else going through this? Or have any advice about what loans to get?
Glad to see some new people. Would anyone be seriously interested in renting a house or an apartment WHEN we are accepted? lol. I plan to look at some places after my interview. I would be interested in a two bedroom, only because I would like to have my own bathroom. If anyone is interested please let me know.
At the risk of jinxing myself (knock on wood), but since final details are being worked out for people (like moving across the country!), would y'all want to form a FB group for the 2017 cohort?
I'll call it UAB AMNP 2017 Applicants, to be changed soon to UAB AMNP 2017 Cohort. If any of us do not make the final cut, we could remove ourselves from the group. Thoughts?

I asked that question at the info meeting and both phases are considered graduate. Thus the first year is graduate tuition, even though undergrad level courses.
