UA MEPN 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone,

I'm considering MEPN application to the UofA next year. I've been in touch with the advisor, Chris Sogge, for the past 3 years. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Biology from Canada . Chris said that I need a pre-req GPA of 3.7 at least to get into the program; mine is 3.3. Do I stand any chances? Did anyone get in with lower pre-req grades? I'm trying to juggle pre-req taking with a toddler. Thanks so much for your advice!

Does the UA DNP program recognize our MS-RN if we apply after gaining 2-3 years of RN experience?

Yes, you can go straight from UA’s MEPN program into their DNP program without additional experience. If you were to apply to other school’s DNP programs you would need the additional 2-3 years of experience.

I did talk with an admissions coordinator for the DNP program at the UofA. After completion of the MEPN, you can apply to the program through the BSN to DNP route, as we’ve all learned it’s not a MSN. They also stated that yes, you could apply to the program right after graduation as experience as an RN is not an admissions requirement but stated that many take a year to get experience to become a stronger candidate for the program.

Did anyone else receive an email from the Graduate college about passing the “first round of evaluation?”

Good to know! I have a friend who got in right out of her bsn program. She had a 4.0 in her bsn program though. I haven’t received anything from the graduate college but I also just submitted my application the day I got my acceptance to the mepn program did you do yours before that?

I did, I submitted mine in December. It wasn’t an official “acceptance” but just informing that CON had submitted their “formal recommendation“ for admission to the graduate college.

Hi! I am new to the forum, and I got accepted into the Phoenix cohort! I was wondering if anyone has gotten their official acceptance by the grad school? I got mine via email on Friday and have started logging into the different programs. Although I am confused how to log into castle branch to upload my FCC and immunization records. Also, I am moving from the midwest so also if anyone knows of anyone looking for a roommate in Phoenix or Scottsdale please message me! Looking forward to meeting everyone!!

I haven’t gotten my Grad School admission yet. When did you apply? I didn’t do my grad app until Jan 6th.

Hi, I am looking for a roommate in Phoenix, but I don't know how to personally message on this. I am also confused on how to log into castle branch. I submitted my grad app in December and I have not got an acceptance yet.

I applied to the grad school on December 14th!

I also applied to the grad school when originally sending in my application in December and I just received my grad app acceptance email today!

They emailed me Friday saying that I was up for consideration and it could take about 3 weeks to process since this is peak time application time, but it was completed today so that's good news that they are getting around to them pretty quickly!

I got my grad acceptance email today too! I submitted the grad app with my nursing app in November.

I haven’t received the email but logged on to the graduate application website & saw my acceptance there ?‍♀️
