UA MEPN 2019

Published

Hey guys I know we have months before the application due date but I have just recently decided that I am going to apply for UA's MEPN program. I'm currently finishing up microbiology and will finish off my prerequisites once I complete organic chemistry in the fall. I am extremely excited and also nervous to be applying. I still have to take the HESI so if you guys can offer any tips on how to prepare for it especially the vocab section that'd be great! Does anyone know how many apply vs are accepted and the stats of those who are usually accepted into the program? Also I'd greatly appreciate any insight on how the program is from students that have graduated from the program or current students of the program. Thanks!

BrenMau those are both good gpas, and congrats on the Interview!

What was your HESI, and which campus are you applying for? I'm always curious about this kind of stuff ?

Congratulations to all of those that received an interview and best of luck in the interview process. For those that have not received an email invite for an interview, I highly recommend double checking that it did not end up in your junk email. I had this problem when I applied and caught it hours before the RSVP deadline......close call! Also there will be a lot of my current classmates at the interviews to answer any questions/recommendations in person after you complete your interview ?

I got an interview too! Just so close now! I'm so excited and of course nervous! ??

@Nursing hopeful87 I got a 94.5 on the HESI ? And I put Tucson only because I did my undergrad at U of A and really love Tucson.

Hi all ! I just got an interview invite. I’m from California and I was wondering how much a video interview would differ from an in-person interview ?

The video interviews are basically the same except I believe they do them with just you and the interview panel. In-person are done with 2 candidates at a time.

@lemm916 Thanks for putting those questions together. Much appreciated.

I received an interview request on Friday afternoon and replied that evening. Looking very forward to it. Make sure you guys RSVP'd to the right email address (there was a small error on the first email as you should know).

As of know, I'm planning to go in person from LA. I would think even though the interview is worth 20% it isn't a make-or-break thing. But I'd like to go in person because it gives a chance to meet current and future students, plus see the campus (both if possible) on a school day (I'm planning to get there by Friday afternoon). In addition, it is within reasonable driving distance. I just wished it was a week later so I could enjoy baseball spring training which starts the following week.

Upon further review, I notice the School of Nursing is actually about a quarter mile north of the main campus (with some other programs) which might work in our favor in terms of housing. Unfortunately, the rec center is 1.2 miles further south.

Well, I look forward to the whole process including hopefully meeting people from here. And I encourage those that are reading this and haven't written yet, to please do so because they might cancel this year's class if there are only 7 people, right?

Enjoy the Super Bowl.

Hello everyone!

Just created this account. I also received an interview invite on Friday. I applied for Phoenix perferred.

Does anyone know how many are usually selected to interview?

MicroB I believe 120 people total were invited to interview in past years, but I believe they've increased the number of seats available in Phoenix, so that must have changed.

LAHammer yep, the college of nursing is located on the Banner University Medical Center campus, so a little bit from the main UA campus. But it is all pretty close together and most people at UA use bikes to get around easily! Plus there are Wildcat shuttles and the Tucson bus lines. The university area is pretty walkable too (unless of course it is summer!).

Hello!

I received an interview invite as well! I am from phx but current living in Tucson, I selected phx preferred.

Does anyone know how many students they accept per campus?

An advisor got back to me, he said there were just under 300 eligible applicants, and the top 200 are being invited for an interview. From there, the final number is 126 (66 Tucson, 60 Phx)

Thanks for the info MicroB! 74 seems like a lot to have to go to an interview that there aren't even spots for ?
