UA MEPN 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey guys I know we have months before the application due date but I have just recently decided that I am going to apply for UA's MEPN program. I'm currently finishing up microbiology and will finish off my prerequisites once I complete organic chemistry in the fall. I am extremely excited and also nervous to be applying. I still have to take the HESI so if you guys can offer any tips on how to prepare for it especially the vocab section that'd be great! Does anyone know how many apply vs are accepted and the stats of those who are usually accepted into the program? Also I'd greatly appreciate any insight on how the program is from students that have graduated from the program or current students of the program. Thanks!

J2flowers1 I wouldn't worry. At the info session, they said as long as you submitted by the deadline, you would fine. I was actually surprised when I received the verification email. Last year it seems that the interview invite emails went out on a Saturday, so I would expect the interview invites to be sent either Feb or Feb 2 ?

@J2Flowers1 Does you application say COMPLETE? If not, I would be a little concerned, just a little, in case a transcript wasn't on its way by now. I would follow up on the schools.

My last of 6 transcripts made my app Complete on the 14th and I sent it the morning of the 15th. I could have sent it earlier without the Complete Status.

Anyway as mentioned before it was verified Friday morning the following week as a reference point for you (Monday was a holiday too). Nursing CAS says it could have taken 10 business days. So it took 7 business days from Paid Submissions with Transcripts Complete to Verified on NursingCAS

There is a FAQ on the site on NursingCAS on common input errors like not inputting Labs that don't have grades. I inputted a bunch of zero credit library hours that were on my transcript.

Hang in there.

Araew21219 thank you! I thought the interview was much more basic than what I had prepared for - Why do you want to be a nurse, tell me about yourself, etc. We were only in there for 15 min and were 2 of the last people to leave. I wouldnt stress it! J2Flowers1-hello! The nursing college will only contact you if there was an issue, but I think we got an automated confirmation email that our application was complete.

One thing I'm worried about is being recommended by the college of nursing, but not getting into the graduate college. Has that happened to anyone? Or has anyone had any issues with that part of the process?

I really don't think that will be an issue. I think the graduate college will admit everyone who applies and meets minimum requirements, which are probably to similar to minimum requirements for the college of nursing.

I looked back on past MEPN threads for interview questions to review. Here's a few to think about while we patiently await interview emails. :) Nursing hopeful87 I'm glad to hear the interview really isn't anything to stress too much about. Thanks for your insight!

1) Describe a moral dilemma you have encountered and how it was resolved.
2) What are two words/attributes/characteristics you believe most importantly describe a nurse and why?
3) What is one word your peers and manager would say to describe you?
4) Describe a time and your reaction to receiving constructive criticism.
5) Describe how you will manage the workload of this program and the stress that comes with it?
6) Why do you want to be a nurse?

We should hear about interviews today or tomorrow!

Interview invites are out! Looks like we are to RSVP via email, then the CON will respond with the assigned time slot. So exciting!

Got an interview, yay!

Me too! I just RSVPd!

Since there's only like 5 of us applying we should be good right??? ?

Got my interview email on the 123rd time that I checked my email today. ??

Hi everybody! I'm a little late to the game, but I also applied to this program and got an interview invite this morning! I was a little bit worried because my gpa for both last 60 and prereqs is around a 3.6, but I'm so happy now that I got an interview ? Excited to hopefully meet you all!
