Hey guys I know we have months before the application due date but I have just recently decided that I am going to apply for UA's MEPN program. I'm currently finishing up microbiology and will finish off my prerequisites once I complete organic chemistry in the fall. I am extremely excited and also nervous to be applying. I still have to take the HESI so if you guys can offer any tips on how to prepare for it especially the vocab section that'd be great! Does anyone know how many apply vs are accepted and the stats of those who are usually accepted into the program? Also I'd greatly appreciate any insight on how the program is from students that have graduated from the program or current students of the program. Thanks!
Thanks for the info 918hopeful!
That NursingCAS app was a little bit of a struggle, but only because I had 7 transcripts (military life) to worry about arriving and getting verified on time before the due date! I did manage to finish the last 3 prerequisites and my undergrad last fall (just in time, phew)!
Last 60: 3.73
Pre-req: 3.71
HESI: 93%
Praying for Phoenix again as my entire family makes the move there this month!

Thank you! Yours and Lemm's seems perfect of course! I'm glad they sent an email saying everything was verified and received because I wasn't sure about the CAS app still! ? Hopefully we hear something by the end of the first week of February!
MsKiwi32,
They highly recommend that you don't work and I would agree for the first few semesters since the schedules are so condensed and most of the time you won't know your schedule until last minute. I know a few people that had a job that was VERY flexible and understanding of their schedule and just picked up shifts occasionally. I will say that once you get to third semester, it becomes a little easier to work a few days a week. I just recently picked up a very part-time side job, and am so glad I waited until after the first few semesters. Everyone is different, so I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of working, but I would recommend you assess the workload for a few semesters before doing that. I hope this helps!
Also, if it is anything like our class, you all should receive notification by the end of January/very early February if you are invited for an interview. Interviews tend to be mid-February. I hope this helps. Feel free to message me with any questions ? Good luck to all!

Hey CaduceusClay,
I don't have any stats as far as jobs after completion. Most of our faculty that stay in touch with the students said the students haven't had a problem finding a job. Most take their NCLEX in September or October and start working right after. I have already run into a few individuals that graduated August 2018 at my own clinical rotations.
Our program def. gets a lot of hands on experience. We just finished up our Med-Surg rotations which were around seventeen, 10-12 hour shifts. The program has a lot more clinical days than most, which I think attributes to the high NCLEX pass rate each year.
I hope this helps!
