U of C Degree holder/Transfer Route Nursing Jan 2016

Published

Hey everyone,

The applications haven't started yet for University of Calgary, degree holder, January 2016 but I wanted to make this so we can all suffer through the application process together!

Post your questions here!

Hi Carlene85! We are in the exact same boat (and GPA)! After taking the Physiology and Anatomy course this summer, it dropped my GPA. I've been checking my admission status daily. Hopefully an acceptance comes sooner, rather than later, as I'll need to get student loans. But congrats to those who have already been accepted!

Hi everyone,

On Monday, October 10th, I received an email from nursing saying that I have been wait listed. Anyone else in the same situation? Does that mean all the spots have been filled already?! I'm starting to freak out a bit. Has anyone called recently and checked what's the accepting GPA currently?

Thanks

They haven't even completed my evaluation and I turned everything in 3 months ago... That's a little unfair if they're already waitlisting people and haven't even given out of country students an answer yet... What was your gpa? I called last week and they said they're accepting 3.6 and up. Other people have heard 3.5 and up. According to my US to Canada GPA calculation, I should be somewhere between 3.4 and 3.6.

Can someone who's been accepted see how many spots have been filled? Or is that only possible after registration?

From 124 spots available for the winter classes, 23 were filled already...

Does that mean only 23 people have been accepted so far? Or just 23 out off the accepted have registered already?

I don't know… today the number changed, 4 more people registered… I just looked at the courses (285,287,288,289) and it shows you how many spots in total and how many are still available...

Hmmm... Did you have to manually register for the courses or were you automatically enrolled after accepting the offer of admission?

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting, I haven't been accepted yet...

Oh! Sorry I misunderstood. One of you lucky, accepted folk can answer perhaps? :p

You have to manually register

Ack. Not the answer I was hoping for... I guess I'll be a pest and call tomorrow to try to talk with someone in the faculty, if thats even possible. Evidently my file has been handed off to them :sour:

What did the email say?? I just checked my Student centre and I am also on the waiting list, but I never got an email… They told me today that they are accepting GPA 3.5 or higher and between 2.7 and 3.49 are on waiting list...
