Hello everyone just wanted to see if there were anymore hopeful spring 2009 applicants out there. I submitted my application already and just sitting back waiting till Nov when acceptance/rejection letters are sent out. I know they said for us to check out emails everyday in October. If anyone has been through the application process before please share your experience. Good luck to everyone :wink2:
Just incase anyone else was interested....i called Denton office - there were estimated 500 "eligible" applicants for both Denton/Houston. They were able to accept 100 for Dallas and 90 for Houston.
Interesting. I appreciate that they gave you a number for "elligible" applicants.
When I talked with the admissions people in Dallas quite some time ago, they told me that they traditionally have A LOT of people apply who aren't even elligible so sometimes those "# of applicants" figures are inflated. Admissions chick said that people apply even when they haven't completed all prereqs, haven't taken the net, don't have at least a 3.0 GPA in core courses, etc. She said that sometimes people will think they'll just sort of slip through the cracks and get in or that the school will have more slots to fill than applicants so they take their chances.
Umm, yeah. More slots to fill than applicants. Don't see that happening annnnytime soon.
Crazy stuff.
GoopsyAre you applying to Houston or Dallas?
I am trying to read past discussion to make sure I do not keep asking the same question, but I am sure I am missing some along the way.
Hey, its OK. Atleast someone is responding to me! :nuke: I started a new discussion titled TWU fast track 09 but not really any discussion going yet. I like this thread a lot more!
I am applying for the fast track Dallas. I am really nervous about this. Reading all of yalls posts has helped me though so I know what to face when it is my time to be waiting. The student records in Denton is swapmed though; I sent my application just for gaining acceptance to TWU and that was six weeks ago and still no word. They said it could possibly take another four weeks! I am currently debating whether or not I should take chemistry over to get an A from a B or whether I should focus on my NET test. Any suggestions?
When I called TWU-Dallas they said that they were accepting 120 students for Spring and 120 for Fall. I do not know how many applicants they said they get. For summer, they take 30 and the woman said that there are between 500 and 600 applicants for the summer ususally. She also told me that a 3.7 was competitive, but did not say what score was competitive for the NET. It seems that the NET does play a big role though since I have heard of some people with lower GPAs (as in 3.3) with very high NETs (in 90's) getting in, and I actually know someone who did get in to the Houston program with these credentials.Goodluck to everyone! Princess, I am sure that someone will not take their place. I wonder how many get on the wait list?
They told me a 70% on the NET is competitive. I wish I had done better on the NET. At least I passed....
hello to all
i received my letter in the mail and yes "rejection." i will reapply next application period.
i was sad, but i am thankful for all blessings and god knows best!
your support is so appreciated and this discussion board has been
part of my support system. i am here to continue to root all of you on and for those that have been accepted...go kick some butt in nursing school:nuke:
I haven't received anything yet, but I am already making plans to apply for other programs and this again in the fall. With a better NET score, I might have a chance. Has anyone looked into the nursing program at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock? It looks pretty good to me. I guess I have to be more flexible, and if I want to be a nurse I have to accept the fact that I might have to move.
Hello everyone. Although this is my first message here but i want to thank everybody. for expressing their views. I have gained a lot by reading the various mails posted. I also applied for spring 09- Houston campus. I was really anxious until 3ominutes ago when I got my admission letter. I had 3.93 GPA ( without .4 Twu extra point) and 70% on my reading. I wish everybody could get in.

I haven't gotten any e-mails or letters, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. If Princess_WannaBe received an e-mail about being on the wait list, then I will have an even more difficult time trying to get in. Her stats are way better than mine. We will see.....maybe they have a couple lottery slots...(but i doubt it).
