TWU Spring 2010 Houston Regular Program

I think it is time we get our own thread for those of us who have been accepted to TWU's Houston program and plan to attend. :D

Hey Houston Peeps - anyone that has not had their CPR certification - I took mine through this company called HeartStart - it is run by this young woman (her name is Heather) who comes to your home and does the entire class for you in about 2.5-3 hours max!! It is so convenient - and it costs the same as if you were doing it anywhere else - but more convenient and less time consuming!! The charge is $40 per person, and she will come to you individually or if you have groups. Very cool way to do it - she brings the video, the dummies, everything!! She provides the BLS Training for Health care providers, which is what we need, and it is approved by the American Heart Association. For anyone who was looking into applying for scholarships - I contacted the financial aid office and they told me the deadline for the 2009-2010 year already passed. I believe the deadline is in March or April - so keep those dates in mind for the following year. Good luck everyone!!

hi Rosebud 75....so will TWU accept our CPR certification from that company??

Ivetter - I don't see why they wouldn't - I can call to reconfirm but it is the BLS Certification - which the school requires, and it is approved by the American Heart Association. So, unless they require us to get the CPR certification through the school - it should be fine. I will send an email just to be sure.....and post on here. But when I took the class - I took it with a bunch of girls going to UTMB and they didn't have a problem with it.

I know lcap! We all should definitely get together before school starts.Wow, I can't believe it's already ganna be January soon!

lhojo I dunno.I think I am going to just wait until orientation i guess,because they don't really have any teachers up yet.Also, like lcap said before, I'm sure the CON are going to have to open up our account to let us register.I'm assuming around the time we have our advisement session next month.

P.S. does anyone know what color are scrubs are going to be?I think I heard maroon in the past,but I'm not sure.

It's a maroon/ burgundy wine color. I wonder what shoes we have to wear

The dallas people were saying that we need to wear white scrub tops and maroon scrub bottoms

Yeah,I'm glad out colors are maroon. Me 2 @the shoes

I wonder when they are going 2 tell us about our CPR/TB test stuff.I thought they were ganna include that in the packet instead of waiting for the orientation.

Why the 2 different colors?
