I think it is time we get our own thread for those of us who have been accepted to TWU's Houston program and plan to attend. :D

Hey fellow students, my first post :D I am supper excited to me yall tomorrow @ orientation but does anyone know exactly where we need to meet or any other details?

Welcome wubby09! We are all excited to meet u tomorrow as well! I believe we have two more orientations the week before class,Jan19th. One on Thursday, Jan 14 and another one the Friday,the 15th.

Mau00 I am in the same situation with my loan award too. I hope we don't have to pay for anything Tom.! I wish our funds would be available sooner just to be safe!

Thanks mau00!! Lol Im sorry, I meant the "advisement" tomorrow. Do you know exactly where we need to meet and do we need to bring money? Lol I am not sure if I should bring my mother to help pay for everything they say we are going to do tomorrow!

I knoww! The only thing I know is that we can register for classes now,but what about everything else!Esp with books! I'm most likely going to order them online and sometimes it takes longer then expected to get here, so I wanna start ordering soon because I know we are probably going to get our book list tomorrow..

LOL. I know! me too,I 'm trying see if I need to get some money from my parents in case we have to purchase stuff,even though I just wanted to use my loan money for all of the stuff I need but it doesn't look like that's ganna happen since we are getting out awards until right b4 school. That is what we are not sure about.On the sheet it says we are going to purchase our scrubs,etc,but they say anything about else.

I actually don't know where we are going to meet.I guess when we get into the building they will tell us the floor.I'm going to try to get there a little earlier.

Is anyone else having problems registering?!? My account is on hold for some reason, saying it needs transcripts but I already turned in all of my updated transcripts.The woman in the student life office tried to call and leave a message at the denton campus yesterday,but I think everyone went home.

hey mau00, i called yesterday about my "FR Academic Advising hold" and they said that it's because someone still needs to put me in the system. is that the same hold/restriction that you have? if it's the same, then they said to give it a day or two.

What does a "FR Academic Advising hold" mean? No, mine says the Restriction is an "A7" and the desciptions reads "Needs Transcript." There were a couple of other people yesterday who had the exact same hold on their account.I forgot the woman's name in the student life office yesterday,but she tried to call denton and left a message to see what was going on with the hold and how to take it off,but no one answered.I hope she can get some answers on Monday.

has anyone bought books yet? i was wondering if you guys know if we can use the older editions cuz i'm wanting to get the 2005 edition of the patho book as opposed to the 2009 edition. there's a big price difference and i would really like to save money ^____^

as for the foundations book, i talked with one of the current twu students and he said you can pretty much use the old edition for it. i'll be using my sister's from 2004.

That's funny.I was just wondering that today too.My sister's nursing school books and I was rummaging through alot of her 1st semester books and we seem to be using a lot of the same books,but she was the last version,and we need the newest version.Like the fundamentals books and the health assessment book are all the last edition of the same author. But,I'm sure it's just the same. I wanted to start buying books now,but my loan money doesn't come in until January, a week b4 school starts.
