TWU Spring 2010 Houston Regular Program

Published

I think it is time we get our own thread for those of us who have been accepted to TWU's Houston program and plan to attend. :D

Ok oh thanks!Yeah I was told by the immunization office in the denton office.I faxed my form and she reviewed where I was fine.I took the Tetorifice/Diphtheria in 04, but I actually need the Tetorifice/Diphtheria/Pertusis shot.

Well the sheet does say Varcella is required, but I assumed I was exempt, but now that I look at it, I took in the mid 90s, that was around the time I got the chicken box.I guess since 10 yrs have past I have to get the Titer to see if im vaccinated I guess.

Oh Thanks Noni79.I hope I don't need an appointment.Do you know how much they start got a titer?Or they only do vaccinations?

when you will go there, they will give you a form to fill out and will ask about how much you earn as i am full time student so i just mentioned my monthly pocket money. then they will ask you about your insurance just mark that you are underinsured that is what i did atleast. after reviewing your form they will access how much they will take but i know that this will be not more than 30 bucks. just tell them that you need a varicella shot 1 or 2. they don't do titration. i was thinking to get titration first but my dr told me go ahead and take shot. i think you can do similar thing. i am saying this because my sis has chickenpox 2 times, and she catched second time when she was adult so i think its safer to get shots anyway.

if you really want then you can take titration.

And you don't need appointment.

Ok, well I have insurance so hopefully I'm ok.That seem pretty straight forward.I just hope we don't have to have this done next friday! I know the deadline in this friday to turn in everything, but I hope they were only talking about the signed form sicne I still have to do a titer and take another booster!

Well I don't know how much they will charge you If you will mention about your insurance. Just give them a call and ask about payment and also double check if they have varicella on that day as they can run out.

Yeah I'm probably going to have to contact them because I don't work so I wonder how they will do the payments. It shouldn't be that expensive for the shot, but the titer I have never got an estimate about so I'm pretty clueless about that.

So I already have my first two hep B shots...does anyone know how long it takes before I can get the third one if I just got the second one in Nov. 13th? Also, is it ok if we don't have the third one by the deadline??

It takes total of 6 months to complete. I got first on 30th nov then 31 dec and last was in may.

I think your last will be in april. But I think there is booster shots which you get early. You should check with doctor.

ok thanks Noni!! ;)
