TWU Spring 2020 Hopefuls?

Updated:   Published

Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!

Hi friends!

I've been fighting bronchitis and my doc has had me on strict rest (read: bored out of my mind/going stir crazy) so I went ahead and created a Facebook group page to have ready for when decisions go out! I've had a lot of DMs here on AllNurses so I thought setting up this group would be a good idea since sometimes questions get lost in this forum. I am no expert, but I have done quite a bit of research, met with advisors and ask staff a ton of questions so I am always willing to share anything I know!

If ya'll want to join the page, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TWUDEC21

I have it set as a secret group for now since we aren't technically accepted yet, so I'm not sure if it will even let you click that link and join. If someone wants to test it out and let me know, I can change it to closed if it doesn't let you join ?

Hopefully only 13 more days y'all! I feel like I was just clicking submit on my application yesterday and now the time is almost here! Have a great rest of y'alls weekend ? ?

I also have bronchitis. Sorry to hear that! I've had it for 1+ week. Hope you feel better!!!

If you search TWU Houston Nursing Class of December 2021 on FB can you see it?

Trying this invite link too lol

nvm didn't work. there has to be an easier way to this..

I got a request from someone to join so ONE of these links is working or you'll just have to search lol also if someone else wants to be a moderator since for some reason I am clearly challenged at this just LMK and I'll add you as one ?

They both worked for me! Thanks ?

Clarifying that the page I made is for HOUSTON applicants! I'm sure someone will make one for the cohort in Dallas as well ?

Hi. I just want to let you know that if you go onto TWU’s website and do a class schedule search you can find all the courses being offered for nursing. When the course comes up, the syllabus is available and you can see what texts are required. You can get a head start on reading. I went ahead and ordered Concepts, Assessment. Patho and pharmacology. I decided to rent them from Amazon and it didn’t cost much at all. It will give you a good idea of what’s to come and give you something to read while you are recovering from bronchitis.

Wow that's awesome!! I've been reading a few "preparing for nursing school" books BUT I am a tad nervous about patho and pharm so this is a really good idea! Thank you!

Your welcome! Just do a search by course number, Houston and fall 2019 semester. They will come up. The syllabi were pretty informative and the one for patho is very specific. Once I got the pharmacology book I realized it won’t be as hard as I thought. Someone who is currently a S1 student said that assessment has the most amount of reading. I have read the first 200 pages or so.
Like you, the waiting is very difficult and I would just like to know one way or another at this point.
