TWU Spring 2020 Hopefuls?

Updated:   Published

Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!

Hello!!! Is it not possible for you to retake it before the deadline? There’s someone on this forum that is taking it about a week before and will have the scores in on time. Maybe you can look into that?

I'm not sure if I can retake it since I heard I have to wait 30 days to be eligible retake the exam. Do you happen to know if I can do so?

Thanks i felt so good about it, until i read a forum where 93.4 was the average for a fall semester in dallas in 2018. Im applying to dallas and may try to retake it. Unfortunately the gpa excel sheet i found on twu website or that forum didnt calculate my gpas into admission score, but just with teas score im at 51.9. Do u happen to have a link for a working gpa sheet.? It really boils down to the pplicant pool. Ive seen as low as an 86% overall get into dallas within the last yr.

Ah I see. Dallas is a bit more competitive so I can see why you would want to be 10000% sure that you have the best stats possible. I think the excel sheet I used when I calculated mine was the one from the TWU website and it seemed to work. I’m not sure where you would be able to locate another. I guess if there is an issue with the excel sheet on their website maybe you can email them and they can send you another? I’ll try to fill it out again today and see if it works for me. And 93.4 is a crazy score lol. I think your right to feel super proud of your score and even with 51.9 so far that’s pretty good.

This is from the TWU website. It doesn’t say anything about 30 days so I would think you should be able to take it one more time because that was only your first attempt between the Feb. 2 and Aug 15 deadline. So you should have one more attempt. However, if you would like to be 100% sure I would email or call them first thing Monday morning.

@baymaxnurse @Map09 is correct, you can take it again up until August 15. Some schools may have a 30 day grace period but to my knowledge TWU does not!

This is correct. I actually emailed director of nursing, Derrick who confirmed 30 days is recommended, but not necessary for TWU. That rule is established by the school

@baymaxnurse There you go! So good thing is you have some options. So if you decide to schedule it I’m sure you’ll kill it!!! You got this!!

Yes!! Here's to hoping the application cycle ends soon and we start school in January! ? how is your admissions score looking for TWU? My first attempt at the TEAS back in January (78% overall) has me at a 42 so I am retaking the TEAS this Friday!

Hi everyone,

I am so nervous right now. I am applying to TWU Houston for Spring 2020. I took TEAS test twice. My test scores overall is 85.3; however, my Reading: 63.8, Math: 96.9, Science: 91.5, English: 95.8. My admission score is 45 :( . I cannot retake TEAS test any more for this period.

Does anyone know any nursing schools in Texas that may accept this scores? I also apply for SHSU, UTMB, SFASU, UT Health San Antonio, Southwestern Adventist. My chance to get into those schools is very low. I want to apply for more schools to ensure that I have school to study in Spring 2020.

Try taking the HESI? UTHealth and PVAMU are also in Houston, their deadline for Spring 2020 is still open.

I am thinking about take Hesi. Do you how to register for the Hesi test? Thank you for the advice.
