TWU Spring 2020 Hopefuls?

Updated:   Published

Hey! I'm applying to TWU for Spring of 2020. It's super early, but apps are due this Summer. Anyone else applying? I'm super nervous and I'd love to hear what everyone is doing to prepare for the TEAS! Also if anyone knows how many points are considered competitive let me know!

I just checked WebAdvisor and it shows I was accepted today as well. I submitted my ApplyTexas application on July 3rd and my transcripts were received July 15th. I didn't expect it to be that quick.

So do you still need to submit your nursingcas application? I really hope it doesn't take 6 weeks and that mine will make it before Aug. 15.

Acceptances before August 15 are for PRE-Nursing acceptance. You still need to apply through NursingCAS once you get the initial acceptance. As long as you're accepted to TWU and submit your NursingCAS application with ALL required materials by August 15th then your nursing school application will be considered. NursingCAS dosen't have to be verified by August 15th, just needs to be completely submitted.

It doesn't need to be verified before Aug. 15? So if submitted my NursingCAS application today, I'm eligible for Spring 2020? If that's the case, why does TWU say students should apply 6 weeks in advance?

I was mistaken. However, I applied a couple of weeks ago. I'm submitting my NURSINGCas app today (really late, I know).

Well I haven’t even been accepted to TWU yet soooo your better off than me lol. I’m hoping I hear from them soon so I can apply to NursingCAS

Edit: Actually correction I just checked and I got accepted toooo lol. Now to apply to NursingCAS

Yes, as long as you submit your NursingCAS application with all transcripts by August 15th you’ll be eligible for admission. It does not need to be verified by that date. I’m taking my TEAS on the 13th so I will be cutting it close, but my transcripts have already beeen processed by NursingCAS so I should be good. I think the 6 weeks is referring to general admission to TWU to ensure you get accepted to the school in time so you can submit your NursingCAS application by the deadline.

Do we send our TEAS scores to TWU directly or just upload them to NursingCAS? Or both?

You have to send your score report to TWU and upload it to NursingCAS also.

Oh, that's good to know. I had to have my school mail my transcript to NursingCAS today since my school doesn't use NursingCAS' acceptable electronic services. I hope my mail transcript doesn't take 3 weeks to reach Watertown, MA.

It's preferred you apply well in advance that way it is completed and verified as close to the application end date as possible, but I was told it didn't have to be verified on that date. I believe the applying 6 weeks in advance message is directed towards your first initial application to TWU because you cannot submit the NursingCAS until you've been accepted by TWU. It looks like its been taking 2+ weeks for TWU to accept applications, so that is why they want you to apply to the school 6 weeks in advance to give you enough time to be accepted and turn in your NursingCAS.

If you list them as your school it will go to them directly. I didn't see anything about it beinh necessarily to send it to them outside of the NursingCAS application though?

Oh I just read on the TWU website and on NursingCAS that it just needs to be uploaded to NursingCAS. But I think I will email them just in case also.
