Hello!
I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?
After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.
So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!
Hello,I am also applying for the nursing program at TWU in Spring 2013! I am actually scheduled to take my TEAS test August 16th. I'm nervous though. I just seen this site and decided to sign up for it. I just graduated from Lone Star College with my AS so I'm ready for the nursing to start. I am excited, but nervous at the same time. What is this site used for?? Sry I am new to all these things.
I thought you couldn't take any classes before you were actually accepted into the nursing program. Is that not true?
Hi! Welcome to the thread :)
Pathophysiology is the only class you can take "early," or before being accepting into the nursing program. The advisors highly recommend doing so if you think you have a solid shot at being accepted, that way your first semester of nursing school is less stressful with one less class to worry about.
GOOD LUCK on your TEAS!!!
Welcome Rroosskkii88! To put it simply, allnurses.com is great resource and you'll receive a lot of advice as well as encouragement because we are all hopeful applicants. It's also nice because you meet new friends/potential classmates that are going through the same process and applying to the same program so it's nice and a bit comforting to have someone else understand.
Thanks! This is the first time I'm hearing about being able to take Patho before being accepted. I will definitely look into that. I need to just sit down for several days and start preparing and studying for this TEAS test. I have the ATI book, but haven't looked at it due to working 40+ hours and also taking classes in the summer. :/ You have taken your TEAS test already correct?Hi! Yes I have! And I only used the ATI book, as well as the two practice tests in the back of the book and two practice tests online. I felt like all of it prepared me really well for the test!
What did you make? If you don't mind me asking. And you just went thru and read and understood each question? I have 14 days to prepare..... NERVOUS :/Yes I have! I made a 92. And yeah, I basically read the book from cover to cover, spending more time on the subjects that I knew I had trouble with. After each practice test I would scan over what I got wrong, and then look for more information either in the book or on the internet. I made an 84 and 88 on the practice tests in the back of the book, and an 80 and 82 on the online practice tests...which were harder, in my opinion, than the actual test itself! But the online tests helped the most for preparing for the actual TEAS, so I highly recommend paying for them.
Don't be nervous! I only studied about a week before the test, you have plenty of time! :)
Oh ok... You did great! 92 is excellent in my opinion!.. Thank you for all the advise. Just tried to register for the Patho class for the Fall and I guess I can't do it at the Houston campus.. Not sure if I want to drive to Dallas every Monday for class. And then I have to go get that menigitis shot.... Lol There's always more requirements than I expect lol...I made a 92. ambrekai: Good luck at your meeting. Question how far in advance do you have to call to make a meeting do you know?
Rroosskkii88: Welcome to the site and good luck on your TEAS.
