Hello!
I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?
After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.
So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!
The .4 boost is still part of the criteria. I just called and spoke with 2 people in the nursing department and they said it is still a factor....no worries :)
Good to pages 9 of the thread and read what blt99 said. What he said came straight from the person who chose him to be in the program. So I am not sure who is correct.
Thats more than enough an hour a day! I am going to Florida! I went to corpus a few years back so I think you will have a great time in Galveston!:-)
Ooh I LOVE Florida. Are you going to go to Disney World at all, or just the beach? :) I've been to Corpus a couple of times too, so I'm glad to be trying something else this time. Have fun on your vay-cay!

If I were you, I would just call the Nursing Advising office in Denton and ask that way you can hear it yourself. I asked 3 people (1 of them, who chooses who gets into the program) and they all said it still applies. Regardless, I think if it did not apply, TWU would atleast take it off of their admission criteria instead of giving future applicants the false impression that it would apply. I do not think the Nursing Department would just 'forget' to take it off of their criteria list. I even asked if they were thinking about taking it off of the criteria, they said no, but even if they did, it would not be effective until after this application period. (Spring 2013)

Not sure who is correct. But either way it won't stop me from applying. No reason to call for me, it doesn't affect me. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking?
Yep , that's right. I took the TEAS V tset last Thursday , it only took one day to receive the email inform the ATI had already sent the result to TWU and attach the resut in the email . Only aware one thing ,arrive earlier than the schedule time . I took the test in Richarson ,the test center did cost time to find . I almost late on that day .
I don't think August is too late. It only takes a couple of days for TWU to get the score, so you should be fine. My advisor told me that as long as we took it a week before the Sep. 1 deadline, we'd be fine! :)Also, the ATI TEAS-V manual seems to be working just fine as a study guide for me, and I believe everyone else is using it as well. You can buy it on the ATI website or on Amazon!
No, patho isn't required to apply to the nursing program, but we're allowed to take it early in order to make our first semester of nursing school easier :)wait, on the website it does not say patho is required to get into nursing school, so im curious as to why yall are all talking about yall being in that class. im confused, can anyone explain, please?!
