TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

Hello edelat11, how is the science part, is a lot of biology, anatomy and physics? because my big concern is physics. What about the english part? also, for math what I really need to know? How long is the test? I am really stress because of this test. Thank you so much for your response.

What websites did you use to practice? Thank you.

It is hard to get in the TWU nursing program? What score do you need in the Teas to get in? Thank you

Yes! You should take the summer patho class. It will help lighten your load for the fall. You only meet once a week. I did it and I think it helped a lot! I believe you sign up for it at orientation.

Hi, I have been reading this thread since I have applied and to the spring 2012 thread when I applied for that term. I just got my rejection letter today. It really is hard to take it in and know that you have been rejected twice. I know parents were praying and hoping I would get in this time. I will be applying again for the spring but at this point you wonder if you should continue with this. I want to know if there are other texas nursing schools that are worth applying for? I know its very competitive but not impossible. I want to broaden my chances of being accepted. Thanks and congrats to all that got accepted.

What were your stats? Maybe you could try retaking classes to raise your gpa. That's what I'm doing. Are you in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? TCC has a good nursing school. It takes 2 years to get your ADN and then they have a bridge program to get your BSN through Tarelton (sp?) Which takes another year.

I have a 3.7 gpa with 2/4 first attempts. I got a 81 on teas. I live in carrollton. Maybe getting a ADN first then my bachelor is better. What is tarelton?

Tarelton is a university in Stephenville. They kind of paired up with TCC to offer a ADN to BSN bridge program in Fort Worth. I have 2/4 first attempts, 96 on TEAS and a 3.79 GPA and I've gotten rejected the last two application periods. I'm retaking some classes right now to raise my GPA and get the TWU bump. But I'm going to apply at TCC and TWU next semester so if I don't get into TWU again, I'll at least have TCC.

I'm sorry that you did not get accepted to the program, but have you considered the Houston location...or getting your associates through a community college???

Ok, I need some feedback please:). I will be applying to TWU for the Fall, 2014 application period. I have A's in all my classes and hope to continue. I took AP Stats and have been told that I will not have a 4/4 preferences due to gt the credit. So, I hope to have a 4.0 in all my classes with the AP Stats it will bring me down to 3.8/3.9, do well on the Teas 80+, 3/4 preferences, no TWU bump. Should I take Stats over again? Just worried:(

What location will you apply to

Hello all! I am new to this so I apologize in advance. I am in DESPERATE need of advice. My goal has always been to attend TWU-Houston or UT Health Science-Houston to obtain a BSN. I am currently attending Lonestar College for my pre-reqs and my overall gpa is 3.1 and my grades in science courses are not good. I got a "C" the first time I took biology and then a "B" the second time. I got a "C" in Microbiology and in Statistics. I withdrew the first time from AP 1 and then got a "D" the second time. I feel discouraged but I also don't want to give up. I just don't know if I am being unrealistic. I plan to retake AP 1, Microbiology, and Statistics. However, I would like to hear from any current TWU or UT Health students. Has anyone been in my situation? Will retaking the courses even matter? I just don't know if it will all be for nothing. Did anyone with a similar situation get in? This whole time I was set on becoming a nurse so I don't even know what other degree I could pursue.
