Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!
About me
I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed
to rhood,
I am in the same boat you are. I have received acceptance or rejection yet. I am wondering if they are waiting to see if they have any accepted students turn down their acceptance so they can offer the spots to waitlisted. Please keep me posted if you hear anything and I will do the same.
Hello everyone!
I'm Felicia, and I was just in yall's shoes last semester. :)
I'm apart of TNSA and I heard yall's orientation is going to be on December 9th, correct? (I might be a bit off, finals kicking in and whatnot).
Are yall super excited?!
I saw my friend Aly is in yall's Facebook group, so I sent a request to join in case yall have any questions and whatnot. I'm sure Aly answered most of them though!
Roset: There's no physical required for TWU, so don't worry about it. :)
But really, CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!
It honestly does get stressful (even just finishing up this first semester), but you will all become good friends with each other and your books. Hehe. :)
Rosett, are you in the Facebook group?
I personally wouldn't recommend you to buy the package because we didn't necessarily use all the books.
Do buy the assessment book and lab book. If anything, start reading for assessment now!
Pharmacology book, I didn't buy, and I'm doing decent in that course. If you do buy the pharm book, use it as a supplemental material. It's not something that you would base all your studying on, but more so get more information on something you arn't very clear about.
For pathophysiology, I personally found the book very useful because the teacher wasn't very good. Yall MAY have a different teacher this upcoming semester, so I'm not sure. I have heard others not having the book and doing well in the class.
For concepts it's a bit iffy. Do buy the medications book because you'll be using that all 4 semesters. A lot of people recommended you not to buy the Chitty book because we didn't use it very often. Do buy the skills book because it'll teach you step by step how to do certain skills like putting in a catheter and whatnot.
I *THINK* I covered everything.
I hope that helps.
But yeah, you should definitely join yall's Facebook group! Your classmates on there are extremely helpful, plus me and a couple of other J1s (going onto J2s) are in the group to answer any questions.

@tebow, did you try the one I pasted on the previous page? The fb group is listed below. Just copy and paste. It should work.
