U.S.A. Texas

Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!

About me

I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed :uhoh3:

lkmwkl, thanks, I have sent those off already. The letter did not specify when we needed to get a background check and drug screen. I guess we are just waiting for a email or mail to tell us the next step. Thanks

Ladydeeb4213: You go onto to fafsa.gov and fill it out yourself. You select the school you want your aid at and the school's financial aid office will contact you with information. They will let you know what you qualify for the year. The years are from fall to spring so it will look like 2011-2012 or 2012-2013.

You can check on TWU webadvisor (https://webadvisor.twu.edu/WebAdvisor/WebAdvisor?TOKENIDX=mainWindow&SS=LGRQ&URL=https%3A%2F%2Fwebadvisor.twu.edu%2FWebAdvisor%2FWebAdvisor%3FTOKENIDX%3DmainWindow%26type%3DM%26constituency%3DWBST%26pid%3DCORE-WBST&CONSTITUENCY=WBST) you log in with the same login and password as Pioneer Portal.

Check the information on there because there are forms you need to fill out. Once that is complete it's also sent directly to financial aid. Then you are finished. Financial aid will take it from there.

Rosett: Were you admitted to the Dallas campus? If yes, are you on facebook because we have a group page and I can also chat with you on there to give you all the info you need. You can find me on facebook under Lori Luke and my picture is an owl.

They will send you an email first, then you have to accept it. Then they will tell you the date the money is available. Also, if you think you need more money you can talk to them, but you have to wait until they have emailed you because that means they have processed all your information. The award amount also depends on what you are classified as (ie: freshman, sophomore, junior, senior). The higher the level the more money.

oh ok, I thought i'd be some type of different process since we have to apply for the nursing program. Thought they'd be handling that part. Ok Thank you! For students with financial need, do they base off any additional aide on their cost of attendance?

When you fill out your fafsa information online they base it off your previous years tax return. Financial aid will process the information and send you an email to notify you of your award amount. If you need more then you would need to make an appointment with a financial aid adviser.

Rosett: They have not sent anything in the mail. The only thing we have received are emails from A. Spinozzi. There are only two that needed to be responded to:

1) the acceptance into the program

2) the drug screen and confirmation form

She just emailed the info on immunizations today.

ladydeeb4213: fafsa has nothing to do with the nursing program. That is for the school as a whole and helps to determine financial aid.

I didn't get an immunizations email.. (houston).. I imagine the policy is the same. Is it possible to post the gist of what the email says (if not just copy paste it) for us? I'd love to get oriented a little on everything that needs doing.

Here is the link to the Houston immunization sheet.

This is for the Houston applicants. After acceptance to the program has anyone received a packet in the mail or an email regarding what the next step will be?

@JEPF, we're still waiting for the next set of instructions. Are you a member of the FB group?

@keerytha...my TEAS score was a 68. I was freakin out thinkin it would not be enough, but I did get in by the hair of my chiny chin chin. Do your best! you need. 64 to pass, however I recommend studying your nuns off cuz teas v is not easy! Best of luck!!
