twu spring 2012 applicants!

What determines if you are core complete? I was going to try and graduate with my associates degree this semester but I wasn't aware that I had to apply for graduation in order to do it at my institution, so I won't be getting it despite having all of the classes. -_-

You just need to look up on your school's website or in their catalog what their core requirements are. Most of the time it's hard to find a very clear list of core classes. More than likely, if you can get your AA at the end of this semester, you will be core complete also. That's something that you can talk to an academic counselor about, as they can post "core complete" to your transcript.

What school are you receiving the degree from? You SHOULD be able to apply for Fall 2011 graduation still I would think. I know the deadline for Houston Community College is October 15...

@heavykey Thanks for the response! :) I go to Lone Star and the deadline was October 1st... I thought the application was only to walk, and since the ceremony is only held in May of each year, I didn't bother to apply. I found out a few days ago that the application was to get my degree. I have a list of courses for my associate of science and at the end of this semester I will have everything I need... So frustrating. :/

I got my acceptance email from UTHSCSA today, and I'll have to say... everybody complains that nursing schools are all so disorganized; however, UTHSCSA has really impressed me with the timeliness and professionalism in their application and acceptance process. It seems to be very organized to me, which I agree is odd.

One down, 3 to go... still crossing my fingers, as UTHSCSA is my last choice...

Congrats Heavykevy!! Is TWU your first choice? I have considered UTHSCSA but it is really far from where I live and I would pretty much have to move.

On a side note... I was looking back at Fall 2011 forum and many people got in that had 3.4 GPAs and 70's on TEAS. Don't lose hope!

Congrats kevy. A good friend of mine is attending there. She was the first class at the new campus. she did mention the disorganization but had nothing but praise for the instructors. No program is perfect. At least you are in somewhere which I know is a great feeling. Again congratulations!

Thanks y'all! Yeah my wife and I would move over there. We're just newlyweds (no kids yet) so we're still quite mobile. TWU is actually my second choice... a close battle with UTHSC.

I got my associates degree situation sorted out! I'm graduating in December!

I posted this on the UTHSC-H forum, but congrats again heavykevy! I think everyone is right. It is the first letter for you of many. I only applied to UTHSC-H and TWU, and I haven't even decided yet which is my first choice. I am having a difficult time, because TWU has a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship, slightly lower tuition, both summers off. UTHSC-H is straight through, they have campus housing... @_@ idk! lol I am losing my mind.

I could possibly place TWU as my first choice also. The big thing is my wife makes fun of me for applying at Texas WOMEN'S University, so I'll never hear the end of it for 2 years if I end up going there...
