TWU Houston Fall 2009

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

hi guys.. soo i went apt shopping.. well i found out that san marin garden homes arent all that... lol they loook good online but ehh. its 1598 for 3 rooms with two garage attach, however i actually got the nerves to talk to some random couple that lives there, and they said that there are a bunch of break-ins, she personally had it happen twice.. because that apt is near like a whole other apts, its bound to have that. she said if you have a garage, its the best bet for you. she moved from lanesborough because she needed to be closer, and she said lanesbourugh is good, its just the management that everyone has a problem with... and from twu it is about 6-10 mins down. the other apts around there are CRAPPY!

lanesborough has three bedroom apts as well.. and i also foung arcadian off of kirby.. gosh this place is amazing.. literally 1.4 miles from twu and they offer shuttle.. and it looked really nice and welcoming.. the lady that showed me the place said that if she was living there she would feel safe. now the apt is 1775 for three bedroom, its a little bit more than i expected, but the area was nice. that place has no waiting list! that lady gave me three applications. lol

lanesborough was the cheapest for a two bedroom two bath 600 a piece

san marin is about 532 per person for 3 people

arcadian kirby is about 591 per person for 3 people

i know lanesborough has a waiting list and i believe arcadian had a waiting list for a two bedroom. um san marins did have one, i think.the lady wasnt nice so i dont remember what she said. oh i do know she said they did not have any type of security there, all they had was a guard who is "SUPPOSE" to be there at nights. arcadian has an officer who stays in one of the units..

Wow! thanks ruchita! i was actually looking up arcadian last night and i thought it was really nice. All three actually sound pretty good but now im kinna leaning towards arcadian or lanesborough just b/c there so close to the school. do you know what apartment you most wanna stay in based on what you've seen and heard.

oh and ruchita...have you heard of avanti cityside. It looks pretty good but thats what i thought about san marin. The price for 3 bedroom is like 1450 which is like less than 500 for each person. here's the website for it.

Sophia and eamaya I called the aid office and my fasa did get there. I should get my gov money in june. I have to wait till we register for classes on the 8th to show proof of classes to finish up my paperwork with my loan through wells fargo. All my aid is almost ready!!

hii! yes r33sa i kinda am leading towards arcadian if two others are up for it, and if not then lanesborough if only one person is up for it. avanti looked nice! but ewww the area its in, isnt even possible for us to stay in. its in the middle of no where, and like thats the farthest from all the other places... i didnt even go talk to the office, i saw it from the outside and just didnt like the area. it was like the only apt next to like warehouses..

i couldnt apply cause i would need whoever im rooming with to apply as well. they process it all together.

princess..i have not got my stuff either, im not gettin mine for another 4 weeks! so it sucks cause you dont know which loan to apply for until they tell you what youre gettin through fafsa.

ruchita, yah i really like arcadian. hopefully there will be some openings there. and i didn't even know were avanti was at. lol i just saw the place and it looked nice.

r33sa totally understandable, i thought it looked soo goood online ahah but eh didnt turn out that way. ohh ohh arcadian offers continental breakfast the first sat of each month.. lol and there is some offer that shows we get 500 dollars off the first month rent.

i noticed everywhere i went, they said they have this look ans lease special, meaning if we look that day, and we sign the lease then we might get some special discount, and i think the discount arcadian is offering is the 500 dollars off...
