TWU Houston Fall 2009

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

ladies, do you think you will bring lunch to school or you are gonna just purchase lunch at the cafeteria?

We could all go to lunch so we can all get to know each other. I'm down for that. Doesn't have to be too expensivie. I'm so happy it was 132. I'm cooking chops tonight

Princess me to, but my sister in law came back and said that the clinic in Baytown does not do blood work there. So she is in the same boat I am in.

I would love to go to lunch with the group. That would be awesome to get to know some of you. Let me know details when everyone agrees.

Yeah, meeting up after the session on May 8th would be great! I'm so excited to meet everyone!!

I'm glad to hear they have a stim lab! Some of the places I applied to either didn't have one or had a crappy one.

Also, does any one have an idea of the average tuition rate here?

my junior 1 & 2 totaled about $7500

So is it safe to assume 20K will cover both yrs??

So is it safe to assume 20K will cover both yrs??

my total financial aid with an outside loan was about 24K and i have like $2500 left plus I spent some on other crap. you should hopefully be fine.

I heard the same thing...when I went to go try to find apartments, some of the people showing them said that with it being Houston its going to happen no matter if its a good community or not. They told me that they recommend not leaving anything in your car and maybe getting a car alarm..So that sounds very welcoming..LOL..

Man, I've been trying to look up apartments..and its so frustrating when some places don't have websites. Oh well...Does anyone know the scrub colors for TWU..I'm just curious...and I figure anxious too to get started already :)

you can have maroon tops & bottoms

there isn't a cafeteria just a little store downstairs that the food is over priced.

hi guys..

i went to TWU..ahah and she is right, the place is small and overpriced.. i barely saw people buying anything from there.. but i do know that.. there is a starbucks, chipotle like walking distance.. so thats a plus lol

my bf's cousin is in the med center for med school, so i asked her about living and this is what she said..

hey! so...it's not easy finding places less than 1000/month that are nice. some places a lotta people live are the maroneal, city plaza condos, lansborough...and there's tons of places in that area. there are also a lotta apts on almeda and old spanish trail (which is about 5 or so mins out of the med center) like the riverwalk. i'd realllllllllly recommend getting a place near walking distance of the rail station so you could just take the rail and not deal with parking cause parking in the med center sucks (unless they're hooking u up with parking).

lilrae.. where did you get yourloan from? chase does not do loans anymore, i just went there yday.. just a lil FYI
