TWU Houston Fall 2009

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

Liberty sucks. There is nothing out here but walmart!! We plan on moving when we get the money too. The place she sugguested is only for houston residents only. I might just have to drive all the way back home and see if I can get it cheaper somewhere or something. The place denton suggested we looking at 300 plus dollars

What really sucks is I use to do these titers at my old job at quest. I could have had this for free

I guess I have to pay it but I guess no no meat for dinner for awhile. :( don't move to liberty if u don't have to u have to drive 30 mins just for the movies. Move to humble or something.

good morning..

yes i would be interested in rooming...

as far as the titer.. i got the chickenpox at the age of 6 and the doctor signed it off on my records. i called the imunization coord. and i told her i would fax over my records and she would tell me what i needed, cause her accent was rough.. so she told me even if you got the chickenpox we need proof stating that you did, and that the titer w/the lab report will let them know. it was kinda stupid because on the paper it states OR OR OR!!! but she said i would need it..

make sure you get it done with the lab report.. its diff price without it..

and princess dont say that.. youre not the only one who doesnt have a way of payin for it.. we all will be going through during nursing school.. you got this far..dont loose hope! ill pray for you!

Ruchita I ubderstaand what ur saying I'm just saying its harder for me because I'm not a houston resident so most clinics are out for me nor can I get on my dads insurance like others. I wish my parents were paying for me to go to school

You talked to sidell or whatever that heffa name is. That's the same point I made. That form needs to be changed. I could have gotten it earlier when I had the money for it. Whoever parents r helping them pay is really lucky, you got it good

I'm glad that's all we need or I would be forced to go to the courthouse and get married for benefits for real :)

Princess... I think even you have insurance, it will not cover for the titer. I am double insured and I still have to pay out of my own pocket. :(

Yeah I know the titer isn't covered. I just wanna kick myself in the behind. I could have gotten this for free!! I promise I'm going to buy my bf a nice car when I graduate. He has sacrificed so me these past 4 months

Thanks Princess on your advice on Liberty. I am pretty much scarred to move but we are going to see if we can stay where we are at in Cypress. Maybe we will get a company vehicle LOL!!

Sophia, you still had to pay out of pocket even when you are double insured. OK now I am scarred. What insurance do you have, if you don't mind me asking?

No... i don't mind at all eamaya.

I have blue cross blus shield from my company and Tricare military standard from my husband.
