TWU Houston Fall 2009

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

Princess - Dang Liberty is far from the med center. AGHHH I don't want to move.

Wow, Sophia, I am scarred. I am on the phone now to see if I need to pay anything.

I am new to facebook and is not very familiar with it. I could not find the facebook page for TWU Class of 2011.

It might be 30. Its a 45 min drive with no traffic

OMG my insurance company (United Healthcare) is not going to cover the Titer either. They said that normally insurance companies do not cover immunizations that is required for traveling, employment or school. I think that is not true because my girls have their shoots for school. Now I am on the phone to see how much it is going to cost me. Oh well, I hope they end up paying it. LOL

For kids its different since it for childhood stuff but after u reach 21 they don't cover stuff like that anymore

That stinks :-(

The titer will cost me $111.00 with my primary care facility but they said that since I will be paying that all up front they will give me a 25% discount leaving me to pay $83.25. However, I just got off the phone with my sister in law, who is also attending TWU, she actually knows a clinic in Baytown that gave her immunizations for FREE because she is a student. But she is going to call them to see if they have the titer there and she will let me know. I will keep everyone posted to what she comes back with.

ok everyone... just got back from my titer. Takes a week for the result to come back. Got a employee discount at my company's clinic and the cost was reduced to 62. I'm so happy. ^^

The austin government will give all my immunization shots for 10 dollars. It is 10 dollars per visit no matter how many shots and tb you have to do. It is just gonna hurt a lot after like 5 shots!!!!

princess, that was me like several years ago... i was skinny back then but I just have to use picture which I was holding a rat. LOL

Thanks sophia, for the heads up. I will just have to bite the bullet and just go and get it done. I don't want to wait any longer so I can give the doctor some time to get it faxed to Denton.

Man I wish I would have known about the place in baytown but my luck its only for houston residents and I'm not changing anything till I get married which most likely won't be till 2015. This stuff is so pricey its a shame
