Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?
I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.
Has anyone else had their updated transfer coursework not posted on Pioneer Portal yet?
Mine has not been posted yet, even though I know they received my transcripts (I called after I sent them to make sure).
Anyway, JUST IN CASE anyone else is going through the same thing, I called Student Records and I got sent to a voicemail but there was a message saying that they're basically a little behind but that if you sent your transcripts before the deadline you can still be considered for the CON, it's just that they're behind on posting the updated coursework on Pioneer Portal.
I just wanted to share that in case anyone else was worried also!!
i think i did aweful on the critical thinking--750. I took it last too. I wonder how important it is compared to all the other portions of the exam. i got a 93 overall. I hope they take it into consideration.

I called last week, and they didn't have one of my transcripts....so I overnighted it. I hope it got there!! My stuff has not been updated in Pioneer Portal though. One transcript I know they got isn't posted, so that gives me hope. I'm just going to remember to check my email daily to make sure they don't email me about anything that's missing.
And I'm not sure if I posted it before, but I got 880 on critical thinking...
I got a 920 on my Critical Thinking. According to the Elsevier website, the class average was 745, 700 is "acceptable" and 900 is "recommended." I don't t hink they take that into consideration as much as the total composite score for the exam-- maybe it is used more as a tie-breaker in the chance that it comes down to two people with the same GPA/composite score.
I got some pretty good information from an admission counselor.
-They give preference to students who got A's on the first attempt in classes such as A&P, Micro, and Stats.
-540 applicants for both programs. If you applied to both, you've been counted as two applicants.
-Because of the preference for first attempt grades, its harder to give an average for GPAs, but about a 3.5 is competitive.
-Dallas Campus is more competitive than Houstons.
-Critical Thinking is required, but Composite score is what is considered for admissions.
I'll probably come up with more questions later and will call again to get them answered. My advice is to not take things you hear or read as gospel. Call the admissions department. They'll dispell any rumors and be very truthful.
Great info!!! When I talked to Jeff in the nursing department he told me a 3.8 is competitive....I can't believe they have 540 applicants, amazing.... At first I didn't have a problem waiting and I thought it was going to fly by, however I just ready to have my answer and waiting is going to be horrible.
OMG, guys! I just got an email from Deanna in the nursing dept and it scared the crap out of me...It was just to inform me that they recvd my app and to keep checking email daily and to apply for scholarships which the deadline is March 1st...My heart skipped a beat.

Yeah I got that too at first I was like OMG TWU I thought they were e-mailing me saying I was missing something! lol but it was just the same thing.
