TWU Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hey guys, I know it's a little early, however, I decided to start this thread as the application process will be soon upon us.

How are you studying for the TEAS?

Wishing all the best! :)

Hey everyone...so I finally retook my TEAS exam, but I still didn't do go enough to be competitive for the evening weekend program. I don't have the TWU bump nor do I have a bachelors degree so I know my chances of getting in are very slim but i'll still post my info:

Nursing GPA 3.72

TEAS Overall: 84.7

Reading: 70.2 (I honestly don't know how I did so "bad" in this section)

Math: 90.6

Science: 91.5

English: 87.5

I'm very doubtful of getting in, but I'll probably take the TEAS later on again and reapply apply next year for Fall 2019 unless I find a job where I'm able to attend a "traditional" program which then open up my possibilities to other schools.

Don't give up! I was told the TEAS is the most heavily weighted component. Even without the bumps you can get in.

If you don't get in this time around, i would suggest to re-take one of your nursing core prerequisites for an A, and study hard and re-take the TEAS and re-apply. Your science score is great already. Double down on the English and math using Khan Academy to review all those grammar rules. The reading section is hard because it's so subjective, but getting a perfect or almost perfect score in math and english is very doable, and that would go a long way toward raising the TEAS score. Also, your TEAS is higher than mine was last year so don't give up yet!!

I applied for the Dallas traditional program.

Nursing GPA: 3.76

Prereq GPA: 3.76

TEAS overall: 90.7

Reading: 89.4

Math: 100

Science: 83

English: 100

TWU and prior bachelor's bump. I hope to see y'all in August!

I'm sure you'll get in, but good luck anyway!! I'm sitting at 59 points with no bumps. Hope to see you in August!

I hope so too! lol I studied the ATI teas manual. I also studied with the teas app but honestly I feel like I just got lucky this time with the reading section because normally I do very bad on it.

Hello everyone, does anyone know if TWU has ever admitted students with low Teas scores like not meeting the 64% cut off mark on every section?

Idk but if I had to go off their website I would say no unless it was "special circumstances"

When will results come out?

In the Fall 2017 thread, they found out on March 22nd
