TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

Also, I am sure a few had probably applied and may have even accepted spots elsewhere. They may be too inconsiderate to bother responding.

that would be the height of inconsideration. they have to know what each of us is going through with the seemingly tiny bit of open spaces at available schools. For example If i do get good news from TWU my first order of business is clearing my application from UTA..I know lots of people want in there too!

Yours is a legitimate issue though. I was referring to people that are missing things that should have been in the application (due to their own error) and getting a chance to add it after the fact... I hope my gripe makes sense... It does in my mind...

this, i can understand the transcript issue, I had issue with mine getting sent in time around Christmas break as well.

I do not think they are letting people add. I think it's more like "hey, we don't see this. Do you have it somewhere or will this class be done before your start date?"

Personally, I think there should be an additional point bump for people who have all of their pre-req's completed, but that's just me.

Amazon, I agree, but some people just don't care.

Awwww im super excited. I finished all my pre reqs 3 years ago. Ended up finishing my bachelors in the mean time to build a firm application status. I hope we find out tomorrow. Super anxious for all of us to hear good news.

Hey y'all!

I'm late on this thread, I've been following it for a while now but haven't posted before. Wanted to share my stats with everyone.

Overall gpa: 3.84

Science gpa: 3.76

Teas Scores AVG 78

Reading: 78.7

Math: 83.3

Science: 74.5

English: 79.2

TWU bump

53.47 total points

I was not pleased with how I did on the TEAS but I took a chance with my gpa and bump. I'm taking patho right now in Dallas while I wait to hear back and Dr. Copeland is great! Hope to see you all in the fall! Best of luck to everyone!

Which program did you apply? I couldn't get into pathophysiology class. Hopefully in fall.

I applied to the traditional program in Dallas. Majority of the students are J1's but I know there are a few students who aren't in the program yet.

Fyi- Houston has tons of BSN programs- UT, TWU, A&M, U of Houston, etc. Def more options than the DFW area.

I'm currently taking Patho in Denton. I recommend Prof Manny- bc he give lots of opportunities for bonus points- which without it- I would have a B vs an A.

Till tomorrow...

I wasn't aware Houston had an A&M nursing school?????

Might be called Prairie View??

greetings all,

i have a question about biol AP1 and AP2 and since all of you applied to the program fall 2017. is there anyone who took fast track or accelerated program, i read in TWU website that, they don't take any AP1 and AP2 that's taken within one semester. am in accelerated program. i did my AP 1 before spring break and am doing AP 2 now. am really worried that they won't accept my APs.

should i be worried about this because i don't have time to redo these classes.

please any inputs will be appreciated.

thank you all.

Might be called Prairie View??
