TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I've decided to go ahead and start this thread for those who are in the process of applying for the HIGHLY COMPETITIVE nursing program at TWU (FALL 2017) Feel free to share your STATS, questions, and good vibes as we're all here to get accepted!

I'm personally interested in the Night/weekend program since I already have a bachelor's degree and I just finished my TWU application (since TWU requires you submit a "new student" application first, then the Nursing application) I am planning on submitting my nursing application right after I hear back..

I also have not yet taken my TEAS, but am in the process of studying for it to take in a couple weeks!

How's everyone else doing?

re-apply for the fall

Take organic chemistry

Study for the GRE and apply to TWU again and UNTHSC PA school.

I have an application at UTA but honestly I'm not the most thrilled of going there if they do want to take me.

Something tells me it might be today at 5!

I was thinking about it. Im new to Texas. Do you know of any good ones in Houston?

Will do! Fingers crossed today is the day. Is anyone plan on doing an ADN program if they don't get in or will you just reapply for spring?

I heard lone star was good. I'm not to sure about HcC being that there scores were pretty low. I'm thinking of retaking the teas and HESI and just apply again and to more schools.

How many points did you apply to TWU with if you dont mind me asking. I have 41.33. im so nervous and scared lol .

I have 51.79 points for Houston

I never calculated my points. I'm nervous but I could never get it to work right. No previous degree. I am applying to Houston. Nervous because I don't have a bump

Does anyone know the minimum points for Houston?

There is no minimum points, the minimum points depends on the applicant pool.

So HCC had their program cancelled for awhile because of the NCLEX scores were low on students getting out of the program. I'm not sure if they reopened it but they might have improved their program. Alvin community college and San jacinto college are great programs. I guess it all depends on where in Houston you live and how far you are willing to drive. As an alternative you should check out UT Arlington. They have a great online program where you take the classes online and do your clinicals at a hospital that they are associated with. There is nothing wrong with getting your ADN before your bachelor's. I work with nurses who have their ADN who do the same job as those with Bachelor's.

I'm at UT Arlington now doing the prerequisites, but the clinicals are all about an hour outside of Houston and then only admit 20-40 For Houston per semester based on availability.
