TWU Fall 2020 Applicants

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Updated:   Published

Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:

Overall: 85.3%

Reading: 87.2%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 74.5%

English: 83.3%

I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.

I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.

Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?

You'll need to start the NursingCAS application in order to send transcripts because the transcripts have to be sent with a specific page from NursingCAS. I would go ahead and start the application since it takes a while to fill out.

Great, thanks!

Do you mean when you are filling out the transcript section? They have to be listed exactly as they are on your official transcript. But for the subject, I would select the subject that the class was. They know what classes are your pre-reqs.

And I agree, this thread does seem slower than previous but maybe it will pick up closer to Feb 1 or after and we are waiting on decisions.

Yes, I’m talking about the transcript section. So for A&P, micro, chem and all those, we don’t select “nursing”? I select the subject the class was in instead?

That's right. So composition I would say English on your transcript, my understanding is that you have to put what it says on the transcript.

On nursingCas, do we have to input the lecture and labs as 2 separate grades? My college only gives 1 grade for both

You should list it exactly as it is on your transcript. Mine was also just one grade and listed as one class, so that was how I listed it.

For those still waiting for the acceptance to the campus itself, when did you submit your app? I submitted a little after thanksgiving and I'm still waiting so I'm a little curious

I'm working on my application and wondering if any of you know the answer to this.

I've repeated some courses and I'm at the point where nursingcas wants me to mark repeated courses. My question is, do I selected both times I took the course, or just the second time?

Thanks!

I applied around that time too. I probably sent my transcripts 5 days later though. It still shows that they haven't received any.

Hopefully we can get in soon ? I heard it can take up to 6 weeks which is why I thought I was okay submitting around the time that I did. I guess the 6 weeks mark is in a week or so for us so hopefully soon!

I hope so, I'm in the same boat. Hopefully it should be soon!

Have y'all checked y'alls status today? They finally processed my transcripts yesterday and reviewed my application again but I needed to submit another document. I called today and they told me that they're working on all the fall applications and trying to get all the nursing people admitted asap!

My transcripts and everything have said received since the beginning of December, it just hasn’t changed status from “ready for review” for all this time. That makes me feel better that they’re paying special attention to make sure the nursing ones get in on time though!
