Twu Fall 2009 Applicants

Published

Hello Princess WannaBe and other special Friends:

Soon we will be going through the same agony we just went through recently as we sat and waited on the letters with decisions that were made for our lives at the moment.

We are all going to be positive through this process again and once again

I am positive, upbeat and excited.

TWU Nursing Program here we come:nuke:

Princess WannaBe and others on the waitlist we are still pulling for each one of you to make into the Spring 09 program. Yes, as we know anything can happen...hang in there:yeah:

Sweetheart I have explained to you just like it is...once again GPA/NET and where you are willing to go. If you are willing to move and have a good GPA/NET

you have increased your chances. If you are not willing to move or did not check

both places on your application your chances are lessened because you only chose one place. TCOLEY2011 told you the BIGGEE.....the .4 bump.

I watched people that had 3.8's above not get in last application period because

they had 3.6 and .4 gives them 4.0....you got it...

The .4 is the MONSTER OF ALL MONSTERS, but nothing we cannot conquer if

you believe.

I will not be defeated by the DEVIL in Disguise.

If it helps I have known many who have applied with lower GPA's 3.2 - 3.5. They qualify to apply, but in reality they do not trully have a high enough GPA to be accepted. Now if they are accepted than all of us are in too. Lets just wait and see.

Don't count your eggs before they hatch or better yet don't start scrambling. These are all just figurative results because we reall have no idea only past application periods to go by. Before last semesters record .4 bump acceptance rate, the average GPA was about 3.7 with a NET 62(i believe). That is all of us now so maybe last semester was a fluke and we are back on track. Besides how many people actually could be as smart as all of us.

So hang in quit worrying and all will be okay.

it doesnt really mess up your chances princess. you have a 3.8 right. and if somebody has a 3.9 and didnt get in dallas, and also decided not to go to houston..guess what... they're not going.. you gotta remember a lot of ppl probably decided not to go to houston.

Oh my goodness I have 319 Post what in the world am I doing? I talk too much:)

Gotta go...talk later...bye

WOW I've missed so much today!

First of all Princess, what are you doing? Why are you so down!? Everything is going to be fine. You'll be fine. Here's the thing, yall are going to be fine. Yall put 1st and 2 nd choices, me, I didn't. I chose Houston. That's it. No second choice. i'm not moving. I can't move. So...for those of yall goign to dallas I'm one less person yall need to worry about. Of course I'm worried. I find it ridiculous and sad that people with 3.7's 3.8's didn't get in last time (is that correct?). I don't understand this whole nursing shortage...let more people in nursing school and there won't be a shortage.

Also, someone said they didn't have a high enough NET score to get waitlisted last time ? Maybe it was nursetobe that said that. What NET score do you have to have to get waitlisted.

What am I going to do if i get accepted? Pray. Pray for complete thankfulness. Take a trip. Drink some wine. Scream. Scream. Call everyone. My parents are going to have me a party. Stuff like that...

What am i going to do if i don't get accepted? Pray. lol and scream

Pretty,

I am not trying to say who will get in for sure. i am just placing out there what I have heard from prior years. It is obvious that everyone is on edge, especially since we are on page 74 of the thread, which a majority of the past 40 pages has been worry thinking about whether we are good enough to make it.

Everyone has a chance other wise why would we apply. I was just trying to provide info.

Sorry if i have upset you. That is not my intention.

tcoley. you didnt upset me. i was just took it to heart when you said " and truly they dont have a high enough gpa to get in" or something along those lines. but my gpa might me low. but its not BAD. that is the part that makes me mad. i have a 3.4 and 76 net and im proud.. and all i can do is pray.

you should be proud of your GPA, everyone should unless they cheated. You have a great NET test which will work great with your GPA. Depending on which school you are trying to get accepted in will depict what range the GPA will be. People say that Dallas is harder tp get i nto and requires a higher GPA than Houston. I don't know much about Houston or their previous years acceptance rate comparred to GPA levels. I only know about Dallas.

What I do know is only from I have been told by others that have gotten in or tried to get in.

i applied to both. i know dallas is a slim to none.. but who knows. id like to go to houston if they have a spot for me, but im to the point where i just hope one of the five schools i applied to accepts me. enough said. i cant stress

Nursetobe is back from YOGA.....oh it was so good for my mind...and good for my body.
