Good morning.
Joe, glad you had a good time.
I most often have an appetizer but rarely a dessert when I go out to eat.
Not sure what my anxiety and depression is about but seems to have been heightened since the hurricanes and trying to get things done around here and financial issues. I was well into my 50's before I sought some medical help, did some therapy but it never really goes away and cycles up and down. But I'm okay.
I took my benzo to settle down and get some sleep.
Ado, I know what it's like to live in a red state and it's soured my desires to remain here throughout retirement but it seems to be national with Trump in the office so where to go that I can afford? But Oklahoma and them bringing the Bible into schools is a bit much. the Bible needs to stay in church.
I talked to someone of authority at my roofer to complain out the frequent no-shows and work not being completed and she talked to the owner. Probably didn't do a bit of good. She faulted flu season and the cold weather and will look into things. She was able to get my gutter project scheduled today but the other project to finish the roof I haven't heard anything about. They've no showed twice to put up the gutters so I'm not holding my breath. I wonder too if the deportation situation here is causing them some trouble with staffing. 99.9% of roofers here are Hispanic.
Otherwise routine day off with no big plans. Weather for the following week will be warm and up to 80. We're having a lot of fog in the morning.
Hello all!
Tweety, I sure hope you get some progress on the roof and gutter projects. Dessert? Usually dh and I will split one. Sometimes I get it. Sometimes I don't.
Joe, that was nice of the restaurant to open for your group. It was also a kind gesture, on your part, to order the appetizers and dessert.
Yesterday we got our 12K steps in, at Disneyland. We got to hear three bands, plus the Disneyland marching band, and saw a mini-parade. The Mad Hatter noted dh's top hat (yes we went dapper!) and paid him some attention as he went by in the parade. We met lots of nice ppl, and had a good meal at our usual haunt, the Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel. It was probably 70 degrees during the day, and very nice to walk around in. We chose to walk back to the parking structure, through Downtown Disney, and as we passed the screening gates at the far end (near the Disneyland Hotel), we saw one of the Disney cats! It was a large gray longhaired cat, and while it was not afraid of us, it didn't come over for scritches. It knew why it was there, and that it had a job to do! The security guard nearby said she often sees it with something in its mouth. Dh joked, "it is looking for Mickey Mouse and his cousins!"
As we were walking up the incline to the parking lots, an asian man passed us, pushing a stroller with three boys inside! The oldest, probably 5, was riding shotgun, perched on top, and as they passed he stared at us. Without taking his eyes from us, he told his dad, "That man has a beard!" I nodded and smiled, "yes, he does!" Then, as he continued to stare, he remarked, "and he is OLD!" LOL, that got grins from us! The dad was probably embarrassed, for he trucked faster, and sped away. Hahahaha! That's something like our youngest would say, at that age!
Have a good day!
It is sunny, cloudless, and s'posta get up to 75 degrees today. There won't be any going out today, regardless of the weather. I couldn't start the day saying "GOOD" morning, because well, for one thing it is just after 12 noon, and .... first of all, Momo threw up her breakfast in 4 areas on my bed, so I will be doing all that laundry. AND, *I* have the liquid galloping crud, where you THINK you are just going to pass some gas, but there's more to it than that. (groan) I don't FEEL bad, but I can't trust my egress system, so UGH! (dammit!)
Had some long, busy, well-populated dreams going on last night, however I don't recall what any of it was about.
Yeah, the political scene has me feeling irritated and exhausted by the constant blah-de-blah and all of Mr. tRUMP's bizzy, busy signing of all the changes and subsequent new orders. His signature looks like a crazy EKG spiking vigorously. Wonder how long he practiced to come up with that signature? Sooooo impressive, and he has to sign with a black marker so it is BOLD. And, OY VEY, Lone Skum (that's Leon Musk, in case ya couldn't figure it out) does NOT belong in the government. But, I will not add any more political talk here because it doesn't really belong on this site. Sorry, but I just had to get that awful taste out of my mouth, Ptooey!
Pretty soon I have to do the get-Nannie-up-routine. I am hoping she doesn't have any 'digestive issues' too! GADS! I hope she doesn't have ANY issues; Her doing some serious napping would be nice.
Am hoping for a dull, quiet day....in spite of all the "whoopsie-OH NO!"-things going on in our guts. I kinda don't dare to eat anything lest it becomes fodder to the "issue" I am having! It may be a day of generic-Lomotil and bland non-fibrous foods. I have heard that plain white rice is good for this state of affairs.....
Doesn't it seem like it should be Thursday or something? The weeks whip by and the days drag on. How can that be? Not my 'responsibility'.
I guess that's about it for now, and it is enough!
Took a second Lomotil (I had only taken one earlier)and ate some yogurt, will have a banana in a little while, and applesauce and toast mid-afternoon. I don't feel bad or sick, just um, understandably apprehensive, because standing up and going upstairs stirs things up.
So far, Nannie hasn't said the word or asked the "out" question yet, and I am trying my best not to let that word into anything that I say!
Ooops, spoke too soon; she asked, "Are we going out anywhere today?" Nope! We ain't a'doin' much'o'nuthin'! But she was satisfied that she will be going to daycare early tomorrow, AND *I* am satisfied that the 1/2 Lexapro in her AM meds today was a fat one, so perhaps her eyelids will grow heavy pretty soon.
We got a few more inches of snow and lots of wind. It's sunny now, 31, but feels like 14. I slipped/slid my way out to the street with the trash, at 6. The street is a sheet of ice, so I am staying put for another day. The dogs seem to be enjoying the snow. The little one buries her face in it, and cones in with it stuck to her flat face and eyebrows.
I am usually awake by 5, but enjoy listening to NPR til 6 or so. I get too achy to stay in bed much longer. My little dog wakes me up around 2 am to go outside. 6 hours is a good sleep for me.

Other than saying I worked 3P-11P for SO MANY years, the timing of when I finally get sleepy, is my 'norm'..... It's in my bones after 40+ years of that! And since I am retired, I seldom have to get up earlier than I do.
Regarding your second sentence, all I have to say is, "No Comment". 😊
Sunshine is a definite mood-lifter for me. Add a warm, gentle breeze and I'm practically giddy!
It's supposed to be up to 67 tomorrow, so today was a weird little dip. It will get colder again by Sunday. Tuesday I fly to Florida. This week Cape Coral seems to have a steady high of 83 so I am hopeful for good weather there. (It's the risk manager meeting. I hope they're all happy enough that whats-his-name got elected that they won't be mad at me).
I don't usually get dessert when we go out. Usually, I've had more than enough to eat. And unless it's a spectacular dessert, it just doesn't seem worth it.
dianah, your visit to Disneyland sounds pleasant. I'm glad you and the "old man" had a good time.
Stars, I hope the galloping crud as settled down or will soon.
TMB and J22, on any given day I could stay in bed well past ten (if only it were allowed). I'm often awake between 2-4, though, when I would *like* to be sleeping. I stay up too late. the Washington Post crossword puzzle for the next day gets released at 11 pm Central Time and I like to solve it before settling in to go to sleep. It doesn't take long to solve it, but sometimes then I browse around online or read my Kindle books. I know I could do better, but I guess I'm just not motivated enough.

My late brother-in-law once said to my sister something along the lines of "I realize your inability to go to bed before midnight is genetic." My family did, indeed, stay up late when together for holidays. My dad's job required him to be an early riser but it was not his natural inclination. So ... nature or nurture ... I don't know but it's who I am.
Ado ~ I also like to do a crossword puzzle before I go to sleep! Takes my mind off this life I am living through, while here at Nannie's! It's satisfying to set it aside when I am through, and pull the covers up, as my head hits the pillow and I sigh, a ~l-o-n-g~ "AAAaaaaaahhhhhhHHH!
There is not one single grain of white rice anywhere in this house. I hope saltines will suffice as a substitute, All the rice I have on hand are brands spiced per one ethnicity or another. And, geeze, I am really craving the vegan chili and beans from the HFS right now! Good thing the HFS is 12-15 or more miles away, it is after dark now, and there is no one to sit with Nannie!
Yah, so I always mute out the TV commercials. Do you think that would be time in which Nannie would feel free to talk? Nope! She has to talk when the show or news comes back on, and generally that involves an explanation I can barely hear (the peep-peep voice that originates and stays in her throat) or that goes on so long that I have NO idea what she is talking about! (Oh Well!)
ENOUGH!

Tweety I think my cousin has the same issue, she gets down when it's cloudy. She misses Colorado, which apparently is quite sunny
Stars I wish it was that warm here
NJ22 sounds like the weather we have here, minus the snow
Ado I find it important to limit attention and involvement in politics, and to remind yourself you have a lift outside that. I've found that candidates and groups will demand all of your time (and money) if you let them.
Work was busier than expected, with a new case and all of the work associated with the new files I received yesterday. But at least it wasn't as bad as Friday was
Was feeling off and having digestive problems for much of yesterday, but by the afternoon things had calmed down again and I felt more normal
After work went to the Thai restaurant with the gay group. Was a nice time and a nice restaurant. Don't normally order appetizers and dessert, but did so this time as a couple people who signed up didn't show, and the restaurant opened just for our group as they're normally closed that day
Today will be the usual grocery shopping, nothing else unusual going on
Will be colder today, in the upper 20s
