Trying To Finish Up Asap

Published

:cry:I,m back again, well it has truly been a while, currently studying again for #4 in the old layout. I was told i have only 7months left. If I do not complete I have to do the new layout. I really don't want to do that. I even switched jobs to have more study time. I wish I could finish by at least Sept. I have to complete NCs4,5,6,7 that's all. Any suggestion of study stragies anybody. Ps, P read everyones post everyday, really pushing to finish.

Lunah is correct, only thing that will get you is there is NO test in the new curriculum that corresponds with NC3. So....you wil have to take 2 exams in its place regardless if you have passed NC3 already!

Not quite. According to the letter from EC:

"If you have not completed Nursing Concepts 3 by September 30, 2009, you will instead need to complete the following two new Excelsior College Examinations:

* Essentials of Nursing Care: Chronicity

* Essentials of Nursing Care: Reproductive Health"

That leads me to believe that if you've done NC3 by September 30, 2009, your credit should carry forward under the new curriculum, just like the rest would.

Here, I'll just upload the letter from EC so you can all have it. :)

I read the letter the same you have, but my advisor explained it differently. I suggest anyone who does not think they will finish by the cut off should contact the school for clarification.

Hello, So my enrollment period is looming and I have it planned out to where I would take my last test on Oct 10 however, my enrollment period is up on Sept 29. So , if you get all your theory test completed by the next enrollment period. Do you have to pay the SAAF again or do you have to complete theory test and CPNE before the enrollment period ends to avoid re-payment. I was just curious. Second question. Did anyone take NC 7 with another NC test? I was thinking about doing that with NC 5. This would put at completion of theory test by Sept 27. Did I make any sense, if not I am sorry. It is 4 am and this was crossing my mind while studying! Time to go to bed Nothing is being retained!:bluecry1:

Thank you,

Kallie

this is what my old status report says verbatim:

the nursing concepts examination series will not be available after september 30, 2009. if you have not completed the entire nursing concepts examination series by that date, you will need to complete the revised nursing examinations that correspond to your remaining nursing concepts examinations. please note: nursing concepts 3 has no comparable examination in the revised curriculum; its content has been split into two examinations. if you have not completed the entire nursing concepts examination series by september 30, 2009, you will be required to complete the two revised examinations entitled essentials of nursing care: chronicity and essentials of nursing care: reproductive health.you will also need to complete the focused clinical competencies assessment (fcca), the cpne, and any other remaining degree requirements.

so it looks like that letter and what they have been putting in student status reports directly contradict each other.

Wow, you're right -- it does! I never had that in my student status because I've been done with them for a while. How weird.

Yeah, I noticed that a long time ago. I also noticed that with the enrollment deadline last year, they were saying that people had to enroll by the last of September and in other literature they were saying the first of October.

They really need to tighten up on these things.

that is correct my enrollment status ends in about 7 months. i was told that it starts all over, i really do not want that. right now i am trying to focus on finishing asap to avoid any issues. i plan to test for ncs4 the first week in aug. and follow 5 right away. this time i want wait to pay for the test . i will do it soon as i get the money schedule then study. i really believe not scheduling right away contributed to my delay in completion. because i know in my heart i was able numerous of times and then when i wanted to, something always came up.:banghead:
