The impeachment trial will be interesting.

STUNNING, but not unexpected after reading/ listening to Trumps Georgia accusations over the past 3 months. Another scheme to add to Senate impeachment trial deliberations.

Anyone doubts that Trump is likely one of the most prolific criminals ever in America's history?
He's been at it since he was a kid according to background reports and he has never stopped!
The guy simply has no depth to his criminalistic behaviors!
On 1/7/21, York Dispatch , his local newspaper, called for Rep. Perry to resign.
Quote,,,That shocking, frightening display of lawlessness was followed shortly after midnight by the sight of Rep. Scott Perry leading a gang of Republican congressmen in an ill-advised, ultimately fruitless attempt to disenfranchise his own constituents by objecting to the counting of the electoral votes from "my beloved commonwealth of Pennsylvania."
If Perry truly believes that the election that returned him to the Capitol for a fifth term was illegal and the results should be overturned, he does have a personal recourse. He can and should resign. Immediately.
With this latest revelation of his involvement in overturning Georgia election results, deserves to be booted.

I'm shocked there's a lawyer left in this country besides Rudy that would represent the man.

Let's hope he got enough of a retainer because very likely he's not going to get paid on completion and there might not be enough of Trump's assets to get a lien on ????
My only argument over this impeachment, if I were going to make one, would be that his "impeachable offenses" are really just a couple of threads in a completely corrupt fabric.
He never understood, nor did he care about the difference in how one conducts oneself as president vs candidate or private sector businessman.
I'm the kind of person who thinks, for example-- that how he would tie federal dollars for disaster relief to how the governors of those states treated him politically was an impeachable offense. He thought taxpayer money was his money to spread around in the manner of a mob boss from the first day to the last day.

I am absolutely sure that ignorance is not a defense!
This impeachment is imperative! 5 people died!
Insurrection! Overthrowing a legal democratic election! Freedom of expression!
You would probably be the first person to lose your mind if someone took away your rights to free speech and to vote!
You have got to be kidding me if you don't understand how insanely dangerous what he did is to our way of life!

I'm not sure where you got the idea I don't think he should be impeached. The italicized part of my sentence signifies that I'm not arguing against this impeachment.
"My only argument over this impeachment, if I were going to make one, would be that his "impeachable offenses" are really just a couple of threads in a completely corrupt fabric."
My point, in a nutshell was that he could've been impeached on any one of the approximately 1,460 days he was in office.
I attached my comment to this topic instead of a more impeachment focused thread because the Trump/Justice Dept/Rep Perry scheme described in the article is another example of his complete and total corruption.

He was impeached and republican senators refused to allow witnesses!
I dare you to find me a single case in a court of law that refused to hear from witnesses before issuing a verdict. I also dare you to make a rational argument defending those senators actions!
The very fact that you say that it's a couple of threads tells me that you haven't a clue about what we are discussing.
Trump is arguably the most prolific criminal this country has ever seen. From an early age he's been committing crimes and he's never stopped! Even after dire consequences, he's unable to stop! He's a rapist, thief, liar, a bully and I wish he was part of my family growing up. We would have made him weep like the whiner he is. It's a family of no political correctness but has a deep hatred of bullies and superficiality.
Anyone who aligns themselves with him is an excellent reference of their character!

Sorry for reacting strongly about your post but I can't stand bullies and he is the epitome of a bully. Dude as a nurse, over 400 k dead and possibly over half a million by the time this is over and all he had to do was allow the scientists and Drs to do their thing. The same people who saved his life!
That's another pet peeve of mine. Hypocrisy! It takes absolutely nothing to say you don't know about something or even sorry, but Trump is just something else! My mother is a history professor and I myself read extensively, but I would be hard pressed to find another figure in history that compares to him. I seriously don't think that even Machiavelli comes close. Maybe Rasputin, but I doubt it.
