Okay, so I'm taking 6 classes this fall (20 credits). I'm not super-worried about that right now. What I am worried about is dealing with my lifespan psychology class. Each chapter is at least 40 pages. I'm taking it hybrid, so I only go to campus for tests. My professor gives us study guides - basically tells us what he wants us to know in each section. Sounds okay, right?
I've started typing up chapter 1, and I've done two sections and it's two pages. That'll be a problem - we do two chapters each week. I've got five other classes to worry about. :chuckle
So what I'm asking for is advice on what to do. Does anyone have any tips about getting "right to the meat" of the sections, or just some ideas on how not to get distracted by feeling like I have to cover every little minute detail in the section? Class doesn't start until Monday, so I'm knocking stuff out early. :heartbeat If I'm not clear in what I'm asking, please let me know - I know it sounds confusing.
Thanks!

I once took 24 credits IN THE SUMMER, working full time, so I know how you feel. Do you work, too? Take those study guides and use the index of the book to look things up quick. That's about all I can tell you...hopefully your other classes aren't so time consuming!
Ouch! That sounds painful. xD Thank you so much - I hadn't thought about using the index. My friend also suggested limiting myself on how much I write per section so I don't ramble as much.
It's funny with all the teachers going "this is how much time you HAVE to spend doing work outside my class!" and thinking that they're the only class that matters... xD Least it amuses me. Thanks very much!

Uhh, same situation. Im going crazy!! Do you work also? Im starting a new job (13 hrs/week) and we all know new jobs = stress! And I work all day sundays (sometimes saturday night also, Im a nanny). Also Im strongly involved in church. Fun stuff! Get a calendar!
I dont have kids or family yet though.
I babysit about 10 hours a week - I've been working at my church for about four and a half years, haha. I have a planner that has a weekly, monthly, and daily view, but it exhausts me to look at it, haha.
I'm single but live at home where my family isn't supportive whatsoever - loud and disruptive when studying, don't care what I want to do, etc. Can't stay at school late because it takes me forever to get home. (I don't drive.)
I still live with my parents also. And I dont have a car either. Similar situations. Except I am getting my AA degree in pre-nursing then going into a upper division BSN program for 2 years. Then direct entry to a NNP masters program. At least this is my plan. If everything goes right my next semester off will be.... Summer 2013!
xD That's really similar to me! I'll be done with my pre-reqs in a year, hopefully transferring to a BSN program, so my next free semester is looking like about the same! I don't know what I'll do for a masters yet since I haven't picked a specialty (leaning towards NICU or PICU or peds oncology), plus I think I may not like advanced practice...so I'll see. Looks like we're going through similar things together. xD
What classes are you taking this semester?
Human Biology Lab/Lecture, a class on study skills to help me with A&P, Drawing 1 (for fun), Inferential Statistics, and...oh! Lifespan Psychology.
Im taking in school English Comp 1, College Algebra, Aerican History 1, General Sociology, General Bio /&lab.
Online: latin 2.
What do you think of Human Bio? my general Bio class is hard enough! lol.
This is our first week, so lecture's a bit dry still (we start the hardcore stuff next week). Human biology lab we just started histology, which is really difficult...I'm making flashcards as we speak. Are you hoping to start A&P in January?
I am not sure if I want to take A&P1 or microbiology or both. Because I am going to have to take one of these over the summer. But probably A&P in the spring because I heard it was easier (not by much!)
