Hello all!
Just wanted to create this little blog to see who else was going to be interviewing at Tristar for their New Grad Nurse Residency program for Summer 2020. I have interviews on Feb. 27th and 28th at Centennial and StoneCrest, respectively. I am pretty excited, but also nervous. I have never participated in a group interview process before.

They said they’re mainly hiring med surg and told me all of the ER spots (my top choice) we’re already filled. Centennial was a group of 20 or so of us but you split up and do individual interviews. They didn’t really say what units were open either but did say it was predominantly med surg. Both places are a two year contact but you can switch units after a year and hospitals after two years.
Sorry to hear there were no ER spots! My friend interviewed at Centennial yesterday, too. She said they told her to keep an open mind because they are mainly looking to fill medsurg positions.
How do you feel it went overall? She said it was very fast paced and that they asked questions back-to-back, like rapid fire.

Really? That really makes me feel like not going to the interviews. I think its rude and unprofessional to make us travel to Nashville and not even tell us what units are open. I'll have to see what I do.

I didn’t think it was that fast paced I felt it was normal paced. I did my leadership interview one on one, some people had a 1 or 2 person panel. I interviewed at another local hospital today and there was 8 people on the panel so that was definitely way more intimidating than the centennial interview.

That's an interesting topic. I worked in a 172 bed hospital and we had 40 adult ER beds and 10 pets ER beds. Maybe Centennial's volume is mostly surgical admits?

I interviewed at Skyline on Thursday and they said I'd know yes or no by Friday or at the very latest Monday, but I haven't heard anything yet. Also interviewed at Centennial and Summit last week too, still waiting to hear back.
My friend who interviewed with Centennial on Thursday said they told her she should hear from them in 5-7 days.
