Tri-C in Cleveland

U.S.A. Ohio

A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester :D. The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.

NewStart2010:yeah:

. I would go to Kent but I was not real clear on their RN-BSN anyone know?

I tried to find a transfer guide on their website, but found nothing where it correlates Tri-C and Kent classes. It is a hard site to navigate - definitely not a user friendly site. I would make an appointment with a councelor. That is the only way you will know for sure what their req's are and how they mesh with Tri-C classes.

Go to u.select.com it's a transfer courses website. You can find what classes will transfer where. It's a little difficult to navigate, but very helpful. But it doesn't tell you if they will take a similar course in replacement of a required course. (Like i was able to get department approval for statistics at LCCC even though i didn't have the exact pre-req class, but i had 2 other classes that together allowed me to get approval. )For that you will most likely have to apply to the school and have your transcripts evaluated.

Sorry actually the website is transfer.org/uselect

Personally I dont care for that site. Calling the school and asking them to fax you a transfer guide is less of a hassle. :banghead:

Thanks alot guys for the advice I may just make an appointment I want to be sure. I want to make sure also if it will be worth it. Kent's RN -BSN is all online so Im not sure would that be better.

most RN>BSN's ARE all online. Sorry :( (CSU, Ohio U too) :bluecry1:

I can see you thinking that it would be better if they were not online, but if you want a BSN and not do it online, then you should go the full 3/4 years at the University.

It's much cheaper to do the ADN at Tri-C then transfer. :) AND if you belong to PTK, you get $$ when you transfer :w00t:

REALLY?! How? I just graduated and am in the process of transferring to OU. I thought PTK only had agreements with certain universities to get money upon transfer, is OU one of them?

Also, any recent grads on here know when to expect the ATT? Am I right in recalling that they said they will send our certified completion letters 2 weeks after pinning?

Good luck to all the new students! Tri-c has a lot of hoops to jump through, but it's so worth it!

Generally a month and a half or so after graduation depending on a number of factors.

You have to tell OU that you are a PTK member. They will get the $$

when you say that Tri-C has a lot of hoops to jump through, what do you mean by that???

I've been in the nursing program through three semesters now and have no idea what people are talking about when they say that. Most everything is spelled out in the ADN handbook. The only thing that kind of sucks which really isn't the fault of the Nursing Department is that clinical agencies (hospitals) keep changing what you need to do to be allowed onto their floors. Like this past semester we had only a couple weeks notice to get a Flu shot prior to the start of our OB rotation.
