What company do you use?

I just wanted to make a thread dedicated to the companies. Which one do you use? How long have you used them? What do you like about them?

I have used American Traveler (out of Boca Raton, FL). Nice housing accomodations and free benefits. However, as i'm looking for another travel job 3 years later, I'm finding that the hourly pay has not increased.

I don't know who I am going to use but I know who I won't.

Intelistaf is who I won't use

I have been with Across america Med Staffing for 2 years, really like all in the company. Good housing and i travel with cats. Never any major problems only had one minor I can think of,corrected very promptly. Pay very decent. Working with a traveler who is with American traveler now , she is making $5 /hr less than me. Definately Intelistaf a no-no. , watched too many travelers having problems with them

What is wrong with intelistaff? I'm travling with them right now. So far so good but I guess you don't know how the company is until a problem arises and see how it is resolved.

How about, THEY STINK!!!!!!

I've had the worst headaches dealing with this company over the last 26 weeks. It's everything with these folks. :angryfire :angryfire

I'll skip the long speech. I do have justification for what I am saying and again folks, if I were looking at companies right now I personally would look at other then Intelistaf.

WOW - I think "THEY STINK" really explains it all. Thanks alot for making me feel so positive about the other company I chose to work with.

My god - could the people with the blunt comments about these agencies please elaborate alittle? Or are we not supposed to do that here? Maybe if you would explain alittle about why they stink, and what office you dealt with, others and myself could have a good heads up if we start having the same problem you had.

I'm sorry but this really makes me mad - nothing productive from comments like that. No wonder we all get burned at times - what happened to working together? I'm new at this and hopefully this isn't what agency work is like - so far I have had a not so great experience with my first agency but I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt before I start saying "they stink." I haven't been treated badly or had promises made and broken yet with Intelistaf, they have been great and even offered to help me with local information for my parents who are visiting this Christmas. One of the girls in the Seattle office has been in contact with me almost everyday - she even called me from home last week after she got out of the hospital to make sure my first shift went well. Yeah that tells me they really stink!

I'm sure I've made somebody mad here now.

To all of you that have shared your experiences - the good AND the bad - thank you very much you all were extremely helpful to a nurse who is new in town!

Specializes in MS Home Health.

I liked Robison. Small company and very nice people.

I travel with Medical Staffing Solutions. Smaller company. GREAT pay, they always do what they say they will do. They provide free private housing, travel pay and $40 to $45/hr. I will NEVER use American Mobile. I used them on my first travel assignment and they knew it was my first assignment. They offered me $18/hr, shared housing and very low travel pay. It was my fault also for not researching other companies. I ended up breaking my contract. They also deducted fees for washer/dryer/microwave from my paycheck!! My paycheck for two weeks of work was $600!!! I suggest checking with several companies before making a decision. have fun!

Thanks for the sarcasm.

I'll keep it even more succinct this time

Good point you made here. Check with other companies.

They'll start bidding when they know you're informed and ready to negotiate a contract.

Never trust a recruiter. They work for the company and it's their job to make as much money as possible for the company.

Ok I will chime in on Intelistaf. I worked for them with 2 different assignments. My first assignment was in DC. I found out that I was not being paid too good. Oh well, beginners luck. My second assignment was in California. The pay was great because they were desperate and I talked them up another $2. BUT out of a 26 week assignment I was shorted on my check 9 times. They always straightened it out a week later which increased my taxes on the next check. I had a pretty good recruiter but she left near my last 2 weeks with them.

I worked with NIP before I went independent and they were good pay and on time.
